🤔Who? Cook or McIntosh?
From the way we used in Cook at Vandy I thought Cook was going to have a big year. It's interesting now we use him more as a decoy than anything else.
I'm thinking we are not giving him enough reps to even be considered a decoy. One of the reasons a D can spy him. If he's on the field, what is the % that he's a target or touches the ball?
From the kickoff of the Vandy game to the moment we jumped out to a 21-0 lead (halfway through the second quarter), I loved our new offense, and I was thrilled to see all the different plays Coley was calling. Then it was as if Kirby said to him, "Hey, quit showing off!" And here we are, 12 weeks later.
In defense of Kirby's approach, we're headed to the SECCG, and all of our goals are still in front of us. But there's no doubt our offense is capable of more. Coley is a talented OC. Cook is a talented back. Can't wait to see what we can do when/if Kirby takes off the governor.
@Dawgy_Fresh BTW, to your point, Cook had four touches, 37 yards, and a TD in that first game. He's averaged three touches for 19 yards in the nine games since, and only added one more TD.
I think the problem is that, as a RB, he just doesn't fit the offense we run. I think he's a talented player but just don't see how they would use him as a RB. I'm surprised they haven't used him as a slot receiver or something like that.
Good coaches figure out how to maximize their talent and put players in a position to succeed. Kirby was a great DC and he is a great recruiter. He is still learning how to be a great HC.
Does he fumble in practice? Does he drop passes in practice? Can he block? Do you even know if he can remember the playbook?
If you can’t answer those questions then your post is uninformed.
Kenny mac also broke a 60+ yrd run against I believe Arkansas State. That is half his yards right there. So it isn't fair to compare to compare the 2 players stats.
I literally felt the same way. I was sending James Coley 😍😍😍 to all my dawg friends and now I feel dumb
The one play I remember him in vs Auburn it looked like he just drove straight into the scrum, no wiggle, no vision, not enough strength to push a pile.
It's disappointing because I remember him being dynamic in the All American Game.
May just need another year to break through, hopefully he’s patient
What’s his chances of transferring? I’d hate for him to leave
You guys do realize that Coley is putting him in there as an option and the defenses are keying in on him because he's such a playmaker? We try the jet sweeps and the screens to get him the ball but the defenses have been really keying in on him.
How do we know it's Kirby or Coley? I'm not suggesting it is or it. But how do we know?
It could be Cook.
Pretty harsh to accuse Kirby if we don't know the whole story
