imageGeorgia receiver real talk: What Kirby Smart wants, and what he's gotten

ATHENS — The Georgia receiving corps had a makeover like no other with the top five pass catchers from a season ago out the door. Ten games into what the Bulldogs hope is a championship season in the making, there’s still work to be done entering the Texas A&M game at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. “What I love about

I wonder if Mark Webb is regretting the decision to swap to defense right now? Probably not because he's actually playing quite a bit. But this position is definitely the Achilles heel of the team.

Aside from Cager, as well as a developing Pickens, Fromm doesn’t trust his receivers and there still seems to be a disconnect between Fromm and his receiving corps

I don’t know if he tried, but it would’ve seemed like a good idea to run routes during the off-season and developing a comfort level and relationship for both QB and receiver, after every starter last year bailed and failed for the NFL draft (and graduation too)

But he we are, and that time has past. Need to get healthy, trust blaylock and Pickens, continue throws to cager and Wolfe. As for the others, I think it’s a lost cause IMO

    GO DAWGS

Eli Wolf has made game-deciding clutch catches for UGA in Florida and Auburn games. He's one to keep an eye on as Matt Landers has not panned out.....cannot seem to hang on to solid throws. Charlie Woerner another receiver with great potential but cannot separate...something Kirby is seriously addressing...! UGA needs to develop a better passing strategy...the players are there...some injured... just need to open up the offense more than they have...give it more options and play action. UGA has done better in key games I will admit. Fromm is protected is why.....has time to target. If a team lets down...Fromm will make them pay. He is that good. I hope A&M game is not just another tilt of up the middle in "Mudville." GO DAWGS!

I don't think Mecole Hardman is a "fail" in NFL.... the rest should have stayed if eligible.

For sure. Hardman is the leading vote getter for return specialist in the AFC pro bowl voting and, I think, set a Chiefs record for rookie touchdowns in the first 5 games.

The receivers are not doing well. Should CKS consider replacing Hankton as receivers coach? Or will that be unnecessary because Pickens and Blaylock elevate their games next year just as Justin Fields did at OSU? Who knows, but there's trouble right here in River City. I really don't know what's up with Woener. By now, the kid ought to be All-SEC. Wolfe has been clutch at times, but he's dropped a couple , too, that could have helped sustain drives -- once early in the game against South Carolina and then late week against Auburn, he let one slip through his hands that would have been a sure first down and taken some pressure off an offense struggling to survive. Mike can go with injuries to Simmons and Roberson if he wants, but if you're so injured you can't do your job, then you shouldn't be out there. And what's Landers excuse? He drops balls, turns the wrong way on routes, gets silly penalties. If you can't help us, at least don't hurt us. Heck, give the walk-ons a chance. Hard to see them doing any worse than Simmons, Roberson or Landers. Oh well, hope it's dry enough, long enough tomorrow to get a couple of nice runs in and hold off the Aggies. Go Dawgs!
