Soflow was absolutely correct about Evans.....Georgia did get him....then decided against it.
There's GOING to be a new coach since Fountain left. Kirby's not going to have an open slot and I kinda doubt he's going to hire another ST coach when Hartley can do it.
It just remains to be seen what type of hire it will be: recruiter, actual Xs and Os guy, or some combo hopefully.
I'm wondering if there might be a real shift in the program at this point. I'm really trying to keep myself from getting too excited at how through the confluence of factors Kirby has a chance to really change a few things.
Well one thing is clear. We will have a differnet offense next year, as many of you requested. Whether it be by scheme or just new players. Pickens only returning starting wr, new qb, rb, new o-line. Excited to see the new talent but would be lying if said wasn't worried. This is where the coaching staff earns their paycheck, have the talent just going to be inexperienced. Wouldn't expect a complicated offensive scheme next year but could be a good thing. Excited to get a first look at the spring game. Edit* Forgot d-rob will prob start at wr as well
Ironic he's holding up four fingers in the photo on the right, me thinks...
I have faith and I’m a Georgia fan all I know is patience. 40 years worth lol
Are you hearing any rumblings about a specific transfer QB?
Yes but there’s 3 names, all have been listed on this board. Once there’s more chatter on who it is, I’ll share. Staff is still figuring it out.
I doubt it’ll be King. Newman, Brice, Costello...based on today I think it’s one of those guys. Likely between Newman and Brice.
Which one do you think is more possible?
the one coming from the ACC
Thank you sir! I always appreciate your insight!
My Vote is for Newman even if I could get King.
Second choice is King.
close Third is Brice
Distant Fourth is Costello
Log is a long shot. Costello is horrible.
I would be happy with Newman or Brice. Can easily win the East with either plus our D.
The Fromm thing was always going to happen. Maybe this year, definitely next year. Some have said they are ready for the next (i.e., post-Fromm) chapter. Well, that day is here. We have a great defense, we have good weapons coming in (and returning), and we still have a strong O-line. This is easily the most attractive destination for any QB.
Seth Emerson said he'd bet on Newman.
This will not be a bad thing imo. It was time. DGD, should be celebrated as such. I think his success and impact was overblown, but he was the QB on the most talented and magical team for anyone under the age of 40. He’ll be remembered fondly for that as he should.
However, it was time and I think it was best for him and UGA moving forward. I felt that if we lost 3+ OL (which I posted somewhere) he would declare. This was the right move for him and UGA.
Regarding transfers, they’re not over but we’re fine. You can’t continue to stack the talent we have and not experience this. Trust the process.
Is there any chance of us getting one of the 3 grad transfer QBs in for spring ball?
or Tarik Black (if he still wants to come after Fromm declared)
Brice, who hasn’t declared, would need to do so quickly and enroll in classes quickly if he wants to be here for the spring. Same for King
I think Kirby goes with a Grad Trans who can be here for spring ball. Costello and Newman fit the bill.
Newman though may like Oregon more now based off what ive seen.
Is D’Wan Mathis a legitimate option?
yea gonna need kirby to make this happen quick
