Looks like the sudden demise of the Georgia offense was prematurely reported. Although, I do hope most will continue to hoist Mullen and Florida as the favorite to win the SEC East.

Jamie Newman looks like the right player to follow Fromm, while giving Mathis and Beck a Senior to learn from and a seasoned player to run the offense.

Newman must feel like it's Christmas day, looking at all the skill and talent he'll now have at his disposal.

This will be a great opportunity for OC Coley. Many have criticized his first UGA offense, and I get that, but it's hard to run an offense with no receiver depth, and so many going down with injury. Coley won't have that problem next season.

Fromm has an uncanny ability to read defenses.....from, what I read Newman has that ability. He can learn the playbook ...this young man is a quick study. Plus, Newman has solid college experience that revealed his remarkable abilities. That is what is needed for 2020...an experienced pilot that can direct the much-improved offense to repeated victorious touchdowns!!! c

Carson and D'Wan....learn from this experienced successful college QB...he will be here only i year....then it is your turn or maybe even earlier.

Meanwhile back in Gainesville, the tiny bit of space in Mullen's brain that is not occupied by Kirby is trying to figure out what happened to all the love his Gators were getting and how to get brown stains out of his orange underware.

I see that his WR #7 Sammy Washington is a Graduate... Does he have any better eligibility left and want to come with him?

Scotty Washington 6' 5" receiver Wake Forest played portions of 4 years so he is done with 5 games played 2016.  Senior.

I love this news, but I firmly believe that Kirby MUST allow Newman to EARN the starting spot. All these other guys deserve to have a chance to compete and win out. Kirby needs to practice what he preaches and should not be offering ANY starting job guarantees to Newman. Earn your spot on the field and in practice.

Probably been here longer than you. The site was once a fantastic place to hear breaking news, get in depth. Sadly it has been going down hill. With the exception of Jeff and Brandon playing his role as a super fan and Bill King's weekly piece, the stories are simply not done very well anymore. AJC seems to cast this site adrift with the more senior writers not on the site anymore. You asked why. I don't come here as often as I used to but there is always hope things will change
