- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Like soFlDawg says ....if the recruits are from FL....Coley is the man ..... we have built a d man good team on the back of a lot of FL 5* talent Coley has the recruited .... I don’t care if Coley sits home and gets paid as long as he keeps the FL stars falling on UGA !
I agree. I think we can also be thankful for Mullen and the fall-off of Miami and Florida st, which won’t last forever. But to stay on topic, i wonder how well Monken can recruit and what areas he will be going to. Also, I wonder if guys like Newman and Mckitty knew we were perusing Monken.
And btw .... the word is TM is a very good recruiter ..... but y’all think CKS would hire someone who wasn’t ?...... that’s not his MO ....no matter what you may know .... if you can’t recruit first ... your not coming to UGA
I agree. He sent lots of guys to the NFL out of Southern Miss. (Southern Miss!!!)
If he can do that, I imagine he can recruit just fine at the University of Georgia.
Hartley will now be the coach for special teams.
I'm coming back to this and a post I made awhile back. They probably did, and so did Evan's apparently.
He made the "because of the new offense they run" comment when asked why he was choosing the school he was going to attend. He was leaning back to us after being favored by the crystal balls to go to LSU ( I posted committed to LSU for awhile back then, oops). His comment confused me. Didnt think we ran a new offese. Seems to me these recruits knew what was up.
I'm not sure that just being told we're going to run a new offense would be enough. Think they would have wanted something more detailed than that. Am I wrong?
I’d be interested to see if Chubb makes any comment about him coming to uga
I think you’re probably right. Just curious how it all works behind the scenes if the deal is not ink’d and announced. Did Monken have any contact with these players to actually confirm the changes? It would still be kind of a tough sell for Kirby to say, “ we’re bringing in Monken, and this is what we’re going to do. The deal is not done yet, but looks pretty likely”.
Also makes you think if this was all in place that far back, it definitely had impact on the decisions of Fromm and some others leaving early as they might not fit well, or see themselves doing well with the new system.
I agree. We all know Kirby is a great recruiter. May never know how it exactly went down, but he made it happen
If everyone was looking for a guy that loves big plays he's the man. He's gonna aim for those and usually has a balanced run game as well.
Just for giggles... Tampa comps with UGA
Peyton Barber-> Zeus, KMac, Milton
Jacquizz Rodgers -> Cook (Edwards/Evans)
DeSean Jackson -> DRob, Smith
Mike Evans -> George Pickens, Landers, Bush, Robinson
Adam Humphries -> KJ, Rosemy,
Chris Godwin -> Blaylock,
OJ Howard -> Siether, DW, McKitty (Tongue)
Cameron Brate -> Goede, Fitzpatrick
Guys like Burton dont really have a comp but will surely be noticed.
Think of how exciting this will be for Monken with these weapons.
Monken first play call in the spring will be A?
Handoff up the middle... just to mess with the fans
Beat me to it lol
then he comes on the speaker and says no that’s too old and moves everyone to a 5 we set with all of them running posts and slants
That would be something too see. Just the thought of that has to make opposing DC's nervous.
