Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Good point. I think. Way to cerebral for me but I think I agree.
I just don’t see an issue with downvotes. I don’t like the idea of telling people how to use the DV button. If it’s a huge thing then just get rid of it. Other sites do just fine without a DV system. I’ve seen god knows how many users get on a soapbox and lecture on proper DV use, so I rarely use it now. Except when someone mentions DVs. That’s an auto DV for me.
Nope has nothing to do with work.....just don't interest me that the owners of this board, that they provide for free to give a bunch of faceless Internet trolls a tool to show how immature they are......
Oh, and with respect to Off Topic comments. I generally like how it’s handled around here and wouldn’t change much. However, I have seen several threads open up with a clear political bent that isn’t explicitly stated. When folks attempt to engage with the conversation they’re told to stop because politics are banned. All good with that, but I recommend heading it off at the beginning when an original post is clearly political to begin with and only looking for affirmation instead of conversation.
I genuinely do not care if I get a demerit. To @AnotherDawg 's post above: I am like that in "real" life, too.
If you ever want to hang out in my studio sometime we can chat about any old thing, even if I don't agree with you we can keep on chatting about it. And as we ramble along we might have occasion to go off on a tangent, but don't worry, I won't rap your knuckles for it.
The forum is so different, though. In "real" life if a random person starts yelling at me on the street I try to get away but I'll troll him on the internet until my toe tips blister. I don't like it as much as one on one, but, living 38 minutes west of Jordan Hare Stadium, I don't get face to face with many Dawgfans.
I don't post much [lurker alert], but I like expressing appreciation by throwing an occasional UV.
Ha! We can agree on that for sure.
I just upvoted everyone in this thread. One love!
Dopamine for everyone!😉
I'd love to give your comment a Vote Up, but since the thread is titled "Off Topic and Down Votes",
I'd be running the risk of being voted Off topic. (that's a joke folks)
Hold people accountable for sure, I love it. Just take a look at the reactions for the OP...that says it all. DVs for breaking good news, OTs on a thread YOU create?? Stop the madness I say
Sometimes I have problem with accidentally down voting someone when scrolling. And I would feel bad about it because most of the time I really liked the post. So I thought it would just be an inadvertent down vote for ever. I recently found out that it can be changed. After accidentally down voting someone. I clicked the up vote and it changed it for me. Now I know you seasoned posters may know this but I didn’t. Maybe this will help some posters that’s in the same boat as me.
I UVd you for spreading the love.
If inadvertently dv or ot just hit the button a second time and it takes it away
Good to know!! Thanks. I will publicly apologize now for all the down votes from me that I didn’t mean and didn’t know I could change.
@trueping Now THAT’S FUNNY right there!!!
If someone writes a first name in a post and you don't know who it is, whatever you do don't ask who it is. You'll get lots of down votes. EVEN IF, no one else seems to knows who it is either. Just go along with it and pretend that you know, ....what no one knows.
I still have no idea who Rusty is. Roughly 25% of my down votes came by asking "Who?". But I'm not asking again. Never again. 😶
This is some serious **** right here. 😁

I liked him. He put on a good front of being s.t.u.p.i.d. But every once in a while he'd drop the facade.
