A perfect day in Texas
Taking my son Quail hunting in the morning.......deer/hog hunting in the afternoon.
Regular deer hunting season is over in Texas. But when you are on the Texas Parks and Wildlife game management program you can hunt through February.

Can’t beat quality time with your son. Way to go!
Gawd I miss Texas.😍 Where is that @texdawg ?
Love that blue sky
I miss wild quail hunting. Sounds like a great trip.
About 20 miles northeast of Abilene. Good quail country but this year is a little down.....usually quail numbers are hurt because of lack of rain...... this year it was way too much rain.
But still able to knock down a few birds this morning......and the dogs had fun.
Right now it's sunny.......58 degrees with a light breeze and I recently woke up from a nap. Nothing beats taking a nap under your deer stand.
I'm currently watching a ten point and eight point......both too young to shot.......and about 6 doe.
This time next week at least one of the bucks may have shed his antlers.
Hopefully today isn't my last day on earth......but if it is......just know I am very content and so very happy.
Nice Tex bro! Jealous and can’t wait to do the same with my boy.
Should be prime time, tex, right about now...
DVs don't bother me....but who is DV a personal thread with zero opinions?
Care to identity and we can discuss?
Probably part of PETA
Doubtful.....PETA people are obnoxious but they wouldn't hide behind a DV.
Besides.....does PETA know what would happen to the deer population if it weren't for ethical hunters.....and automobiles.....helping control the population?
Sent you a PM.....
And a PETA person needs just one bite of my venison backstrap and they'll change sides.
Thank you @ghostofuga1 for informing me who doesn't appreciate my great day of hunting with my son.
You are exactly right @texdawg . We owned about 500 acres outside San Saba. Last couple of times my son and I were there (my dad getting way up in years), I told my dad that he needed to get someone to hunt this property because deer were like flies on chit there. Got to keep them thinned out. There are not natural predators anymore. Not healthy and a definite danger on the roads at night.
And backstrap? You're killing me even thinking about that. Fried with gravy.......nothing better in the world.
