Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Correct unless Ladd is a gray shirt paying his own way in the Fall term. Time will tell. I think some are not counting Newman as 2020.
We're currently at 86 scholarships (so we already have to process someone to get back down to 85 limit) and at our limit on new recruits (23) with Zirkel blue-shirting. Newman counts against 2020 since he enrolled already.
I don't see how we have another spot still, unless McConkey gray-shirted, which I seriously doubt. I don't see Kirby wanting to go into 2021 with only 22 possible recruiting slots, and I don't see Ladd agreeing to pay his own way for a year instead of taking an immediate full ride somewhere else.
Just telling you what’s been reported. If we’re out of spots I dont understand why Kirby would be contacting branch this past weekend while he was visiting Ole Miss.
I tend to agree but he would only have to pay for fall term and would get a Hope scholarship plus maybe other private ones. His only other P5 offer is Vandy so he may take the UGA offer.
With regard to 2021 the rules may change to allow replacing early NFL departures which would likely boost the 22.
Guess we’ll find out whose correct Wednesday:)
Oh believe me, if I end up being wrong, I'll be happy as a clam about it. The more the merrier.
I just hope it's a bigger name than Branch, if there is another.
Yeah I was a little surprised to hear about Branch as well. I’m hoping for Huntley
Slight clarification on that (and maybe you meant it this way) but Ladd wouldn't be able to enroll until Spring semester if he was gray shirting. Think I'd prefer to get him in there ASAP with S&C, take the redshirt and get 4 games in mop up duty to give him some real reps to train for in the offseason.
Seem to recall someone on here mentioning a possible limit change coming due to the losses happening with the portal.
You are correct - it was mentioned but the only proposal I could find for the NCAA spring meeting covers early declarers and medical DQ players being allowed to be replaced.
Page 23 to 25 address initials but 23 is the main one
Title: RECRUITING AND FINANCIAL AID -- LIMITATION ON NUMBER OF NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT/OFFER OF FINANCIAL AID SIGNINGS AND INITIAL COUNTERS -- PROFESSIONAL DEPARTURES AND MEDICAL NONCOUNTERS -- FBS Intent: In bowl subdivision football, to specify that the annual limit on the number of prospective studentathletes who may sign a National Letter of Intent or an institutional offer of financial aid and the annual limit on the number of initial counters shall increase by one in the next academic year for each of the following: (1) A counter who forfeits remaining eligibility by declaring for the National Football League draft; and (2) A counter becomes injured or ill to the point that he apparently never again will participate in intercollegiate athletics. Rationale: Current initial counter and annual signing limitation legislation may restrict institutions from providing the maximum 85 scholarships following significant roster attrition. Exceptions to increase the initial counter limit and annual signing limit for medical noncounters and early departures to the National Football League would serve as objective criteria to permit institutions to provide more athletics aid within the overall team counter limit. This proposal would improve the experience for student-athletes who otherwise would not be permitted to receive athletics aid due to the initial counter or annual signing limit. Estimated Budget Impact: Minimal. An institution may not exceed the overall counter limit. Impact on Student-Athlete's Time (Academic and/or Athletics): None. Effective Date: August 1, 2020 Source: Atlantic Coast Conference Division I Commitment: The Commitment to Student-Athlete Well-Being. Consequential or Nationally Significant: Yes. The opportunity for additional student-athletes to receive athletics aid within the overall counter limit is consequential. Enforceable and Merits Outweigh Monitoring Burdens: Yes. This proposal provides objective criteria that does not increase monitoring burden. Student-Athlete Success/Well-Being: This proposal permits institutions to provide athletically related financial aid to student-athletes who would be otherwise be permitted to receive it.
Idk about you guys but I’m still holding out hope for a Dexter flip
He signed
Don’t need him. Got his big brother Jalen Carter.
His daddy.
TOS folks seem to think there's a chance we flip Reggie Grimes to the good guys...have heard zero mention of this before now and hometown hero SoFl has told us hay is in the barn, but things are pretty dead today otherwise...so something to stir the pot with I guess? Anyone hearing chatter or is this all boredom driven with all the 2020 work having been done?
