WATCH: Georgia football ramps up championship facility construction
Georgia football is playing catch up in the facilities game, looking to get on par with other championship contenders with a new $80 million football building
Comments
They could be raking in millions of dollars by selling small bags of 'authentic red clay from UGA' for $10.00 a bag on Ebay.
Has there ever been a more complete idiot in charge of a university than former president Michael Adams? He saw every dollar spent on football as an expense rather than an investment. The financial success of the football program is just a portion of the financial success being experienced campus wide. Kudos to Morehead and Smart for their vision for the univerity and the football program.
Everybody needs a chip on their shoulder to push them through to greatness when everyone doubts them. I wonder if there's not a day that goes by that Dabo doesn't watch that interview and feeds off of it. Every year it's a different chip perhaps. This past season was"they don't like us because we haven't played anybody."
It almost worked.
It's Great to be a Georgia Bulldog!!!!
@MikeGriffith are there any artist renderings or videos of the planned interior you can get for us?
"The Bulldogs most recently ranked No. 8 in the SEC in football facilities, per 247Sports updated ratings" Number 8!!! - even after all the millions we have spent in just the past 4 years. This just further illustrates how far off we were as a program prior to 2016. UGA was in the bottom tier of the SEC in terms of facilities, yet the fan base expected Georgia to compete for championships. In my mind, there was always a huge disconnect back then. Facilities are built/designed to lure elite recruits - period. Hat's off to Kirby & staff for the excellent recruiting they have accomplished given we still lag behind from the top tier schools in the SEC. Having one the largest support staffs in all of college football now certainly does not hurt and I'm glad to see the UGA administration finally understanding what it takes to truly compete. The only downside is that ticket prices will continue to shoot thru the stratosphere...
Back in my day, there was a locker room, showers and I believe weight room...offices and the stadium. While there I did take aerial photographs of a new coliseum for the college. That's it. Now...fortunes in alumni support monies are erecting functional fashion centers for college sports programs. At least UGA will be among the very best of elite facilities available. Smart and McGarity are behind this major multi-million dollar venture.....GO DAWGS!!!
Right on ShoottheHooch! Without President Morehead's support for athletics Kirby's vision would never have happened.
Sanford Stadium maybe.
