I don't really like the one time free transfer...... however, having to wait until after the sophomore season is not a bad idea....certainly a reasonable compromise.
Yeah, I thought it was an interesting idea as well. The background was that he mentioned all the stories of kids who put their name in the portal because they’re upset they didn’t play Saturday, but cool off and take their names out on Monday. We never see them because it takes 48 hours or so for the names to appear.
"I'll take Clemson Transfers for $400 Alex..."
" This player was a 2 year back up QB to Starting QB Trevor Lawrence..."
" Who is Chase Brice?"
Poor Kelly Bryant, can't even get respect from jeopardy
I like your idea about requiring the kids to commit through their sophomore year.
If only I were that smart! Actually came from Rusty Mansell, but I appreciate your faith in me!
No, I get that. I was speaking as a booster, not suggesting it would influence or discourage the poaching. There are 14,000 or so UGA football boosters, and there are over 900 that have more "points" than I have, but it is kind of humbling to know that my contributions would be considered insignificant. Realistic, but humbling, nevertheless.
Shoot, there’s like 13,000 with more points than I have, can’t imagine how many points you have to only have 900 above you lol
That’s why he’s still enrolled at Clemson?
1 guy in 10 years.
Ok well they don’t hold a significant portion of the talent either. 2020 is the first year they have an elite class. I’m sure Dabo is totally against the immediate eligibility idea. Clemson brings high 3 and low 4 stars mostly and develops them over the 4-5 years, totally different from Bama/OSU/LSU/UGA.
Since 2017:
Tucker Israel
Hunter Johnson
Zerrick Cooper
Kelly Bryant
Tavien Feaster
Kyler McMichael
Chase Brice
And just to add since the first of the year, besides Brice;
John Boyd
Xavier Kelly
T J Chase
Have also entered the transfer portal from Clemson.
Not saying all will actually transfer, but it looks like most all will.
So @dgd829 , that really looks like slightly more than "1 guy in 10 years"....
BTW, Brice is still enrolled at Clemson until he graduates in May......then to Duke.
