Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

You clearly don't grasp the concept of slowing infections, so I'll spell it out for you.
Yes, UGA football players are not in the at-risk group for complications from COVID-19. But they can be carriers and pass it on to other at-risk individuals. Even one player contracting the virus can infect the entire team due to the close proximity of players in practice environments. Not only that, but you don't want anyone on the team to get the virus because it will incapacitate even the strongest of athletes and cause them to miss 2+ weeks of personal workouts.
We have no natural immunity whatsoever to this disease, curtailing the spread of it is imperative so that we don't end up under lockdown with hundreds dying per day like what's happening in Italy right now.
Understand the concern about missing Spring practice for incoming freshman, but honestly I'm MUCH more concerned about having the 2020 college football season cancelled altogether or abbreviated in some form. THAT, my friends, would be simply horrible.
The nation is under siege with this coronavirus variant-19. It is so communicable!! One can become a carrier and have no knowledge. That is the danger. Testing kits for the virus are now available within states and vaccines are being tested as I write. The timeline for a return to normal UGA football spring practice is unpredictable. Who knows? If warmer weather is indeed a factor at disarming the virus, UGA could be back on the field during late spring or early summer?? I just report what I read and hear from those who should know.
Not able to practice is a tough one for a program as elite as UGA...they need all the touches they can get. But the SEC as a whole is experiencing the same dilemma. I am quite eager to see the PRODUCT of all of Coach Smart's untiring efforts!!! It should be spectacular! I do believe Jamie Newman has a "leg-up" on the competition for QB. He has matured at the college level in the ACC with some eye-opening numbers. High mobility factor that Monken was hired to develop. Carson Beck is no slouch either....strong arm and can move...plus a couple others already with playing time. Cannot wait. GO DAWGS!!!
