Good Netflix Football Movie to Recommend
Title: Greater. It's not new, but it is new to Netflix and a good movie about SEC football. HotRod will come to mind for more than one reason, with some of the rags to riches story of Blindside, a lot of tragedy, philosophy, and religion. It will make you a Razorback for a couple of hours and if you actually remember some of the teams, coaches, and players from the late 90's you will enjoy it more because it is a true story. IMO, it is tough to make football scenes realistic with actors, but they did a decent job. They mixed some real scenes in and the actor ends up looking like Brandon by the end of the movie. The most impressive thing about this kid was that he did all of the football stuff--remaking his body composition, learning schemes, and rising to becoming a 1st team All-American while he also got a masters degree. He was a permanent resident on the SEC academic honor roll during the whole time.

Should read, "rising to become."
My family and I watched it about three weeks ago and it was a great movie!!!! I had never heard of it before but we were searching Netflix for something to watch one night and I saw that it was about football.
Greater is a great movie...
Kinda Off-Topic but watch "WACO". Obviously based on a true story. Written by the FBI interrogator at that time. **** good.
Great movie, great story and great message
Remember the Titans
Facing the Giants (great)
Little Giants ( pretty good kid movie)
Invincible (really good)
*Longest Yard....yeah, thought of it, but I didn’t like either one.
I’m sure there are others, I just can’t think right now, but those are 4 good ones to start with.
Sorry - not football related per se but just watched Extraction on Netflix this weekend. Awesome old-school action movie made by the Russo brothers for Netflix. Chris Hemsworth is excellent in it.
Strong recommend!
Looks really good!!!
I've actually watched it twice - outstanding action/fight sequences...Bourne movie-vibe action.
I started this thread to recommend "Greater," but all recommendations are welcome. Finding good stuff to watch has gotten harder as the volume of productions has increased.
I watched Greater last week. Was a very good movie. Also watched Full Count on Nexflix. The acting wasn't the best but it was a good movie filmed in Oconee County.
Check out Pureflix. You might like the movies there.
Woodlawn also very good imo.
Here are some other recommendations Dville. I assume they are all family friendly, given the source.
So sad that he died...Jeff Saturday and Brandon Bullsworth would have been lights out...
Thx!!
