Daniels has no better than a 50-50 chance of getting preferential treatment (immediate eligibility) from the NCAA.

This is Georgia. Not one of the favored programs. It's not like when the NCAA decided that Ohio ST really needed a better QB to bolster OS and the B1G, and therefore decided to help their favored program in any way they could.

Glad to get Daniels to UGA. The QB room will be in great shape in 2021 and beyond.

Honestly, if Daniels gets the waiver and it isn't some systematic rule that applies to everybody, I'm going to be pretty pissed because that will really be a slap in the face to those that waited a year even when heading closer to home. Daniels also would benefit heavily from a year waiting.

I'm still not 100% sure that this approach (as crazy as it is to mention it) of getting practically every superstar QB and then seeing where the chips fall. I'm worried that we might see several transfers at once and go from overloaded to desperate pretty quick. There's no way you can have enough reps in enough games to keep all of those QBs happy. We have 6 QBs on our roster right now (including unranked Priestley and Seter) and that could make 7.

I could be wrong, but it seems like the successful programs find maybe two superstar QBs and invest in them and build their offense around them (as much as possible).

I agree that Daniels will likely get the waiver unless his dad cuts off a finger on a folding chair at USC. Just Saying...Bahaha

Also, Daniels likely needs a little more time for his ACL to heal since the injury was only 9-10 months ago. Interesting how he was at one point the #1 recruit in the 2019 class (ahead of Nolen Smith) before skipping his senior year in HS to sign with USC. That put him in the 2018 class at the last minute and behind Lawrence and Fields in the final 247 Composite. So that means he was the starting QB at USC when he should have been playing his senior year in HS. Interesting, maybe he can get one of those special waivers for 6 years to complete 4 years of eligibility (medical redshirt) claiming It took 2 seasons (12-14 months) to heal. Stay tuned and Go Dawg!!!

Haven't the waiver rights been amended recently to favor approval for the athlete?

It's not a big deal if he gets one or not. He will get a chance to practice and learn if he cant play and the same if he can bc Newman or Mathis will be the starter.

Newman has a year only...he won't tranfer out. He is a competitor but may have been "promised" the job earlier....??? D'Wan probabaly feels he owes UGA for keeping him on board during his long and terrible illness. Carson Beck really likes UGA but he could transfer as he is first year and has tremendous potential. Stetson Bennett will hang with UGA til the end...I feel...unless he can land a starter elsewhere. Daniels...If he does not win the job, will transfer out, yes. He may well have three years eligibility and will not take a back-up role. IMO only!

To us fans we must trust the coaches and especially the HC to know what they are doing! WE had two high profile QB's transfer out in the last few years, now we got two to transfer in,in less than a year. Now all you hear is the carping, as how this QB and or this other QB will be leaving the program because the QB room is too crowded. Let the coaches coach and the rest of us back them up.
