    If I was a betting man, I would put my coins on there not being a 2020 college football season. Dang.

    Sankey is building his resume for a future national political campaign. You heard it here first.

    What is misleading and leads to fear is stating Covid positive numbers for Clemson and other programs and not also mentioning how many of those players are asymptomatic or how many have recovered. The media has to do a better job in presenting the full spectrum of facts.

    I don't want any kid to die from COVID, no one does. Just like I don't want any kid to die from a car accident. But they will. It's what happens on occasion when you drive. It's an assumed risk you take. Just like anything else in life, like crossing a street while walking. Something like 6000 pedestrians get killed trying to cross the street just in the U.S. alone every year. People aren't going to stop crossing streets. Kids aren't going to self isolate like older folks do. Just not going to happen when the mortality rate for their age group is so low. Kids need college, and if there is college then there should be sports. You cannot run from this disease, it's here. It's not going away in a few months. A safe vaccine is at least a year away according to everyone but Trump. It's the new normal.

    It has become politically incorrect to even say that Covid poses very low risk for the college age crowd. So now what I'm hearing from the lame stream media is they are all of a sudden worried about the young adults passing it along to their parents and grand parents. What about sending Covid patients into nursing homes like some governors did? Crickets from the left. Nothing gets said about protesters grouping up by the hundreds and thousands. Just about vacationers at the beach. Strange new world.

    God forbid, but as soon as any college football player dies from CV, this college football merry-go-round will stop. Reality will sink in, because it was an unnecessary risk to start this whole thing in the first place. Classes should be online for everyone in the Fall and no one should be on campuses.

    If you are an adult who can die for your nation in a war, you should be allowed to choose how you live your life even in the midst of a pandemic with a virus that has been proven to have a death rate close to that of the flu. Educate the student-athletes on the risks, give them a choice and LET THEM CHOOSE WHETHER OR NOT THEY PLAY! Take precautions, test the players regularly, keep the fans at home and play ball! We will find out if Sankey is a leader or not by the start of Fall.

    "The fluidity of the virus, and the ambiguity for the potential for herd immunity, has made it a tough situation for the professorial Sankey to address"

    Herd Immunity seems to be the unspoken strategy in this whole scenario. Most of the players who test positive will likely do so between now and the beginning of the season and recover IF they are symptomatic within the standard 2 week time frame. Best option right now absent a vaccine.

    Will there ever be anytime in the future where attending any school for any kid, no matter their age, will be free of any risk from COVID? Dream on. If even one death means we have to close schools then there will never be school attendance again. We all know that if we take away or outlaw kids under 21 from possessing cell phones that we could save thousands of kids from driving distracted and dying in a accident. But society realizes that ain't happening. The benefits of parents being able to contact their kids at any time far outweighs the potential threat of them dying while driving and texting. This approach should be used when it comes to schools being opened this fall. Even with a vaccine (if an effective one comes available) it's not going to be 100% foolproof. So to err on the side of caution means no more school attendance from here on out. Think it through.

    COVID is here for an unspecified time.....maybe in mutations for decades...vaccines help sometimes, they generally do not cure viruses. Albeit, Sankey is responsible for the entire SEC's health during this crisis. I don't see him as a political gamer. There have been spikes in the COVID throughout several southern states. This is concerning. It does appear that many younger adults now turn up asymptomatic but could be carriers. Our 20-something grandson lives with us and is socially active. The danger is not to him but to us,. Young football players can be tested and monitored. I would call it a general quarantine at UGA facilities. Coach Smart is a cautious man and would never consciously let anything happen he could control. They have crack medical people on staff and call. Yet this virus is creeping in to the college sports ranks as it is extremely contagious. Sankey is handling this very fluid crisis pretty well, considering. Will UGA play VA in September?...Probably. Students in the Hedges???? Will there be adequate practice with helmet and pads....probably not. So, as I see it...everyting is still up in the air.

    Stop, just stop, stop schools, stop football, stop jobs, stop shopping, stop traveling, stop going to movies, stop going to church, stop it all. Wait a minute, didn't we do all of the above already!

    Yall only want football yall dont care if a players dies from it or if they take it home the their parents and grandparents. Y all just want football. So yall better hope no one does bc the season will stop as soon as one does. The right wing only care about money and their way of life. But they def dont care about others who may be at risk of a virus with no vaccines yet. Just like that Orange guy

    @EricDawgs1

    Do you think teens should own cell phones? If you say yes then you don't care about them dying using your argument. We know teens are going to text while driving. If they didn't own phones they wouldn't text while driving. There is no vaccine for(texting while driving) that either, is there? Thousands die annually in related accidents. For that matter should we stop using automobiles altogether because people make mistakes while driving? If we didn't drive cars we could saves thousands of lives every year? Do you not care?

    Even if there is no football, 18-21 year olds aren't going stop getting together with their friends in close quarters. Just reality my friend. Not about politics. Even if there is no football and no college attendance this year that age group is still not going to practice social distancing, you might as one individual if you are that age but not as a whole unless you threaten them with arrest. Is that what you want? To shut down the country again?

    One final question ERIC were you OK with all the protesters gathering in the streets together from a safety standpoint?

    Dr. Faucci just said on Fox that he cannot say with any certainty that we will ever have a safe vaccine for Corona. He said, we will know next winter whether a safe and effective vaccine is "possible". It's here, protect the most vulnerable, wear mask to keep down the spread, wash your hands and get on with life.
