He just isn’t good if we are honest with ourselves. Had one good season every other year he has been meh. Stuff looked really hittable tonight
Im still waiting on one of our 17353 highly drafted pitchers to look like the dude we faced tonight. That Glasgow kid is naaaaasty
Interestingly enough the Braves actually just cut folty. Not sure who we replace him with or why we didn’t give him a bullpen shot...
All I know is if this is who folty is now he won’t be around the league much longer.
Wow. Folty DFA'd. Thought he might have turned a corner late last season. Velo way down leading up to the season, though. For them to cut bait after only 1 start on a guy that was in the all star game 2 years ago he must really be lost.
Folty has problems that are not baseball related. No idea what they are, but it's been obvious for a couple of years. Hope he gets whatever help he needs. Lot of arm talent there.
I almost wonder if this implies something off the field. Not like we have anyone we should feel super enthusiastic replacing him with. Idk I don’t think he is worth much anymore but I’m still surprised.
Folty has no physical problems. He may need to just take this year off.
Now maybe they will bring in Ian Anderson and give him a shot.
Where is Julio now ?
Folty has some pretty severe mental problems. I’ve never seen a pitcher with such poor mound presence. That’s why I was so angry with Snitker making him the game 5 starter last year. Head scratcher at best, fireable offense at worse.
If Folty really is 20 lbs lighter than he was last year, there may be some non- baseball things going on. But he is out of options, and claimed to be healthy (no IL then), so they had no choice.
He's not beating anyone throwing 89...
Yep. Seems he was on a short leash even to begin with. I’m worried about the guy.
Side note: love the stuff Wright is bringing tonight. Slider is nasty
Braves look lethargic at the plate tonight. Freddie and Ronald look totally confused. Hope they find their way soon.
In the 60 game season, we’ve got to have the bats come alive.
Striking out way way too much. Are home runs valuable and actually occurring more often league wide? Yes... but that also makes base runners more valuable. we’ve got to start prioritizing putting the ball in play and getting guys on base
Yeah their brand of ball right now has been tough to watch. Too many strikeouts at the plate and too often pitchers losing their command for stretches of time. I have confidence the bats will work themselves out but our starting pitching gives me no confidence after Fried and Soroka.
