Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:

- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Sister-in law......and I could only wi$$$h.
I think boosters should be out of the decision making process where covis is involved. This should not be a football decision, it should be a safety and health issue.
If it's just a safety and health issue then the answer is obvious. There is no reason not to play.
I think it would be very foolish of the old line Big10 schools to damage the conference, I suspect HCs are blowing off stream but cooler heads will prevail. I think to date Kirby is handling this better than most.
I don't think any of the schools would actually leave their conference, more of a partnering with a conference that's willing to play for this year only due to the cancelation by the conference for this year only. I doubt that happens either but I think that would be the farthest they would go.
Trying to get to play games this one season outside the conference given the extenuating circumstances with the pandemic is one thing, but I agree that there's no way any of the schools you mention will be looking to leave the conference permanently. Football is king in the SEC, but Big10 puts nearly as much emphasis on hoops & hockey (men and womens teams) as they do football...newcomers Nebraska aside, there are some pretty old rivalries that would be hard to abandon permanently because of this short-sighted decision by Warren and the presidents this year.
How is football less safe than society and classrooms?
I'll be surprised if presidents of schools like PSU and OSU would knife the conference in the back like that, I hope they don't.
The obvious stuff, it's impossible to keep any separation in football.
I reckon that this is the closest thread to the recently closed Penn HS Coach thread. FWIW, Chris Stigall is a local radio commentator. Also his focus is news, current events, not sports specific.
If Nebraska plays and gets kicked out of the Big10, maybe that would be the start of another round of conference realignments?
Nebraska made a huge mistake when left The Big12. It lost it's identity, it's long term rivalries and it's recruiting territories. It is just a newbie middle level program in The Big10. I'm not sure there would be a big reaction if they went back home. Now if OSU went bonkers and pulled out or played outside of the conference this season, we might see some deeper changes, but I'll be shocked if that happens.
YES.....FINALLY......I can agree with this.
ESPN reporting that Nebraska is no longer considering games outside of the BIG10.
