Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I'm not whining about anything, and I've never even heard of the song you've mentioned.
Here's my vote for an all-time great pregame pump-up song. In fact, our high school basketball team used to run out to it. We all knew it was coming and still got goose bumps every time. Even opposing teams like Clarke Central from Athens loved it.
This is Atlanta's own one-of-a-kind, superbad, original funk-rock group performing PIECE OF THE ROCK. To do it justice, you've got to crank up the opening synth LOUD and have your sub-woofers humming for the bass and drums to kick in! Let it rip!!!
Talking MF then Ima going with Mickeys ****.
Band member held a Mike out for me and my dance partner to sing a part. I am sure that she was the reason we got the band member’s attention.
When we were UGA students, saying go with what the students like is way too simple. Great diversity and tastes.
Maybe this one?? Slayer’s Raining blood!!! The guitars at the beginning are epic. I am into speed metal, but this might be too much? Hey, on second thought. My bad. Stick with The Who

Always loved this song - feels more like a song that's played coming out of a timeout vs something to take the field on IMO.
As an aside - just learned this year that Tom Cochran ("Life Is A Highway") was the lead vocalist for Red Rider. Can't believe I didn't put 2 & 2 together whenever I hear either tune now!
@razorachilles I did not know that!
I guess Boomer is a mindset more of an actual generation. I have 9 and 7 y/o boys that I bring to games, I don't want them hearing that garbage. The kids can wait until later in the evening to blast it.
The way the defense will be playing, Seek and Destroy by Metallica would be fitting.
This is probably used at another SEC school (haven't been to a game in a minute), but I'm partial to it. Could be a decent bridge between older fans and younger fans...
"TURN DOWN FOR WHAT"...DJ SNAKE & LIL JON
Epic video. That’s also a great timeout song.
The video cracked me up and made me think of this old Nextel/Boost mobile commercial.
Ive always looked at songs for these types of situations as needing to be up beat, necessarily milquetoast, and inoffensive. Thus, I give you Zapp and Roger:
Anything but what we currently have...there are tons of good choices out there that would appeal to all generations, but more importantly fire up the team.
Galvinise – Chemical Brothers
Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N Roses
Lose Yourself - Eminem
Can’t Hold Us - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
"Can't Hold Us" works for me @GruvenDawg, assuming no one else is already using it.
I'll toss another candidate out there.
The intro guitars on the stadium sound system would be bad a$$. And when the vocals come in at 0:22 try to imagine 90,000 voices singing it (because it's not lyrics, just sing-along, so EVERYONE could do it.)
Plus the title to the song is fitting.
UTjr has been abusing this song for years. EVERY SINGLE third down. “Third down for what!!” Definitely took the shine off it for me.
HE!! YES!!!!!
My wife says Atomic Dog by George Clinton.
That would be great but if I had to pick a Parliament/Funkadelic collective song gimme that wailing guitar intro to Cosmic Slop https://youtu.be/0eR4aQrYozY
That is a fantastic suggestion. My favorite on the thread so far. What it lacks in volume/rock it more than makes up for in funk/dog.
