Thursday was supposed to be a light day when it came to the world of Georgia football. The Bulldogs had no practice, so it was set to be just a day of exercising and meetings. But given the state of the country after the events of Kenosha Wi., where police officers shot Jacob Blake seven times, Thursday turned into a

Seems to be a lot of virtue signaling over a guy who had raped that girl, had came back and taken her keys and went for a knife when the cops, who were called there by the family, got there. I can't say for sure the actual shooting was definitely needed but one thing is for sure, Jacob Blake ain't no hero.

Seems to me you have missed the point.. Completely. None of my friends or family has called this guy a hero. Not even close. However, if there were warrants and/or he was in violation of his probation, then he should have been cuffed and arrested. Period. We've all seen the video, that many cops just let a guy walk around to the front of his car to retrieve a weapon (remember, consensus is that he didn't have anything on his person). He should have been cuffed and put in the paddy wagon.. Instead, he gets 7 shots in his back.. Meanwhile, a 17 year old can walk right by police after killing people and nothing happens. A young man shoots up a church in South Carolina, and the cops take him to Burger King. A young man sits in HIS home and gets gunned down by an off duty cop who wrongfully thinks she is in her own apartment. Sean Bell leaves his bachelor party and gets gunned down mafia-style for no reason other than mistaken identity... I could go on. Sadly, I could go on with ease.

This is about the respect of life, not innocence or guilt. Trial, and the judicial process are supposed to hand out judgement, not the few officers that are too scared to do their job as they are supposed to. Notice I said few, I'm a proud PBA card carrying citizen with very close friends that are officers both here in the NY area and back home in GA. I know there are great cops, and I'll say what a lot of minorities won't.. Minority communities need them now more than ever. But that isn't the point.

If you don't see the hypocrisy and blatant disregard for the life of black people, then you will never see it. And if you feel that all men that wear the red and black will echo Herschel's view, then you will be waiting a very LOOONNNNGGGG time.

I for one am proud of these young men and even prouder of Kirby (and Stafford) for putting their money and action to work instead of just lip service. And if you want a Dawg to follow who totally gets it (my opinion of course) pay more attention to Ben Watson and what he has to say.. You just might learn something.
