Not awkward unless we make it so.

I believe Smart was quoted as saying Fields was welcome to come back to UGA at any time. So why is this such a big deal? Here's a hint:

IT ISN'T! Slow news day Griffith? More garbage click bait. The Dawgs are in the middle of Fall camp and this is all you can find to write about? Do your job.

COVID and the B1G has done what the NCAA should have done, make Fields sit a year.

Saturday, Fields spoke of his love for Ohio State. Has he actually attended a class with actual Buckeye classmates yet? Next to the definition of “prima donna” is a picture of Fields.

So he was here with his Mom to visit his sister and got invited to watch practise. Not really newsworthy and only a distraction if you make it so.

Distraction is all. Fields being there means nothing. Let's move on....UGA scrimmages should take up our time and interest.

It was odd him being there, but to say it would be ok if only they let in boosters, too makes no sense.

if there was a distraction it was that the players might still be hurting from the racial injustices facing them. I guess many of us Simply aren't Acknowledging .

So what's the big deal ?

  • BestofBreedBestofBreed Posts: 117 ✭✭✭ Junior

Nobody serious thinks a former player being at practice on invitation of the head coach is a real distraction. The only "distraction" is Mike trying to make it one.

It's the kind of agenda driven journalism we hate about politics.

Pretty clear Mike has an issue with Fields because oh what he said about Fromm in the Fields vs. Fromm debate. Let it go Mike. This is a really bad look. There is zero doubt that if Kirby had a problem with him being there he wouldn't have been there.

Yes. Mike has an agenda because his ego is hurt from the Fields/Fromm debate in which he assured fans that Fromm was better. Fields play last year made him look bad and his ego can't let it go.

Imagine trying this hard to make an issue out of something as benign as this. And even worse, trying to use boosters and parents of players to do it! Oh no! not the parents of players and boosters! The injustice!

Yep. That first scrimmage is always iffy for me. If someone does something really good that usually means someone does something really bad. The good news is they now know what needs the most attention and they have time to correct those issues.
