NATIONAL BLACK DOG DAY
Maybe an omen? Game day is just around the corner. Could this be a harbinger of black uni's on the horizon?
NATIONAL BLACK DOG DAY
National Black Dog Day on October 1st encourages the adoption of a dog in the darker shades. Black dogs are less likely to be adopted for no other reason than their coloring. Regardless of behavior, size, breeding, personality, or age, the phenomenon persists.
You’ll find their behavior is no different from dogs of a different color. They fetch, play, and wag their tails just the same. They come in short hair, long-haired and shaggy breeds, too. Do you like a floppy-eared pup? Every ear, tail, bark, and size comes in some beautiful shade of black. Big paws and little paws, too.
Not only do they come in every shape and size, but they all need forever homes. Their temperament ranges just like any other color of a dog. Breeding and previous care affect how they respond.
If you are seeking to add a canine companion to your pack, consider adopting one with an ebony sheen. Their loyalty is no less or more than another dog, but they need a home, too.
It's also National Homemade Cookie Day. Maybe you can munch on a few while you ponder the possibilities of the Dawgs wearing black on Saturday.
What are your favorite cookies. My range is from chocolate chip to Biscotti.

This is an awesome day as my dog is black. Also you can't go wrong with a gooey peanut butter cookie. Easy to make and very easy to eat.
Nope.
best dog I ever had was a black lab named Santa. Miss him every day
This is my good boy, Marley (like Bob, not the sad movie). English Lab, 13 yrs.
Story - He previously belonged to my lifelong best friend, who unfortunately died in a motorcycle accident back in 2012. After the accident, I asked his mom to let me take him and since she already had 3 dogs to look after, she was glad I could. He has been an incredible blessing, has traveled with me all over from my move to Texas and back. I could not have wished for a better companion. This fella means the world to me.
This is my adopted boy Jack sporting the red and black.
Granddaughter and her guardian ....Rupert .
Good lord. Guardian is right!
Rupert was my oldest daughters Newf he was 160lbs or so...this is my Newf Boone he was 185lbs give or take. My family has had some really great Black Dogs..and white and grey etc .

I'm pretty sure he has some lab in him but he is on the smaller side. My son found him coming out of the woods with what was apparently his mother and three more pups. My son said that he whistled and Hatch ran over to him wagging his tail and the others took off running, he said that he just had to bring him home after that. He was very malnourished, skinny with ribs showing. he was probably about 5 weeks old but a year later he's a healthy boy.
Our is dark grey.... Weimaraners don’t come in black.
