Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Exactly my thoughts. I went back to see all the latest comments and it's just what you'd expect. Nothing but negativity man nobody wants to hear it.
It's not a Food Network forum either but we have a Cooking Section.
At some point you have to wonder why we even follow these teams when they choose to lose in spectacular fashion.
I mean really, you're up 3-1 and can't win ONE more game?
I think most people follow them because they are constantly competing in big games. Sure we haven't had the luck we've all hoped for but we've been there. Braves and Dawgs and Falcons to some extent. If all 3 were just mediocre year after year you wouldn't hear as much about them "choking" or not winning the big games, but I wouldn't trade spots with anyone.
As a former Dodger fan this one hurts. Grew up in SoCal going to games with my dad as a kid and all of my friends are fans and have been talking crap all day about how the Braves were going to blow it. Wanted them to win so bad to rub it in their faces, but of course they couldn’t do it. Sucks too as there’s no way that the Braves can afford to re-sign Ozuna and extend Freeman. I think if Soroka never got hurt we would’ve closed this out in 6, maybe even 5.
You literally had to click on a thread title called Atlanta Braves Season Thread to see any of this. If you don't want to see it why would you click on it?
I went to bed when the Dodgers tied it after yet another dinger given up by the bullpen that was supposed to be awesome. I simply don’t want to give my time, and mostly the emotional investment.
I hoped they’d win, but I would have been pretty surprised. My next thought would have been ‘they’ll string us along until they blow the series in some way that sets a record for blowing a World Series’. It’s a conditioned response built on experienced events over seemingly endless time.
For me personally, I believe it would take multiple championships in convincing fashion to change this feeling. But I’m also convinced I’m one of a large group that feels the same way. At 53, it’s possible that happens in my lifetime, but not likely.
I will say that I would trade 20 championships from the Braves (or any combination including the Falcons and Hawks) for ONE undisputed, undefeated, national championship season from the Dawgs.

Braves inked LSP Drew Smyly today to a one-year deal.
Really smart signing.
Has talent, experience, and major upside for a #4 (behind Soroka/Fried/Anderson).
I guess I don't understand the $11 million for a guy with his numbers and injury history. Was the market that hot?
His last set of #'s - 2020 - were well above what he'd done since his TJ surgery. Highest SO rate per 9 innings of anyone in baseball last year. Seems to be able to miss bats quite well. 11 mil isn't much - in fact it is 7 mil less than they wasted on Cole Hamels last year.
I agree with what @donmedeiros said.
Most importantly (to AA, it seems...) they only committed to him for one year. Financial flexibility. Probably would have commanded $20+ mil for 3 years or so from most places.
They have to re-up the National League MVP after next year.
I wonder if FF would give AA a hometown discount?
