Post-Game, Kirby Smart talked about having to play a lot of players due to some injuries but said this was also a good thing because they're all talented, they work hard in practice, and it's great to give players an "opportunity." This philosophy apparently extends to every position on the team other than Quarterback. Stetson's a trouper and a great guy, but has he played to a level to preclude another QB ever getting on the field? Of course not. Kirby has never enjoyed being questioned and doesn't react well to it. But stubbornness, while it has its virtues, can become a hindrance when it stifles change or adjustment.
"Daniels is just a mediocre PAC 12 QB who isn’t healthy enough to play."
Intriguing judgment from someone who's never seen him play and has no knowledge whatsoever about his medical condition. He's "cleared to play." Meaning he's medically cleared to trot on the field and play the position. Newman left BEFORE JT was cleared. Therefore, Daniels could not start Game One. And this is why DawgNation commentary is seldom worth what we pay for it.
Wow. This looks like last year's offense. Glad for the win but a hard game to watch. Offense and defense were very uninspiring. Just look like they were going through the motions. Still love my team though, Go Dawgs.
I think CKS owes the fans/alumni an explanation. In plain English explain why Bennett is our best option at QB. I don't believe he can; other than to say "Bennett has been here longer and has earned the right to play. Besides, I like the kid." Those are great reasons, coach. Will he still be saying that when he's watching the SEC championship on TV?
CKS is speaking with the arrogance of a coach that has led a team to a NC win and he hasn't. He appears defiant in his responses to questions about our QB situation. Somebody tell me how Mathis is somehow worse than what we've gotten from Bennett in the last two games. If Mathis had the run game in the first half that Bennett had today, there never would have been a switch.
WOW !!! After two weeks off and the a$$ whoopin Bama put on you, that's what we get ? I think the only thing less inspiring, was Kirby's explanation. Not sure if Kirby has Monken's arm tied behind his back or what. If so, he needs to turn loose, if not, needs to turn him loose. You have maybe the most talented roster in the country, it's time to play like it.
A (very) short story.
On Todd Moken's first day at work in Athens, Kirby Smart walked down the hall to to his new OC's office, and handed him 4 sheets of paper in a binder. Monken asked Kirby, "what's this?" Kirby said, "it's your offense." Monken then asked, "why is Coley's name on this?" Kirby said "He used it last year, this season it's all yours."
Lol, this team, including the offense, is Kirby's. Monken won't risk his career continuously running a back into 8 or 9 in the box. He will be gone by the bowl game.
Monken will leave, Daniels will transfer, Mathis will transfer, Beck will transfer.......lol. The whole offensive team transfers out of protest for poor play calling.
Not only does the Florida game look unwinnable, the Missouri and South Carolina games look to be in jeopardy. Both are road games. Kirby, please listen to the fans and try another QB!!
Why is Stetson getting a pass for the 2nd interception.. even if the receiver ran the route it was a 50/50 ball at best , he was blanketed and where the ball was thrown it would’ve had to be one hell of a Randy moss ,, you got mossed episode
