First successful trial from Pfizer announced today. Looks likely we’ll get to pack In between the hedges in 2021!

Encouraging progress, for sure. Not minimizing the potential efficacy or public health impact of this particular vaccine, but there are some significant logistical/access challenges with the Pfizer candidate due to the fact that it must be:

    • administered in two separate doses (extends lead time to innoculate individuals/the population vs a single-dose vaccine)
    • it must be stored at very low temperatures prior to administration (-68 c), posing a significant cold chain capacity challenge (many medical sites don't have this type of cold storage capacity)

Very good explanation in the video at this link...speaks to some challenges with non-Pfizer candidates, as well:

I'm going to let this one keep going. Our COVID threads usually go downhill fast. Please don't ruin this one as well. If you don't have anything positive to add just don't post please. First sign of politics and i'm shutting it down.

    encouraging sign for sure...

we have 10 months for them to figure this out!

    I have hope...

plus there are more vaccines on the way...

market should be saturated by this time next year

How much dry ice does it take to get this out and working? lol

Anything to be able to get through what looks to be 12 months of reduced living and sub-par experiences

Alright, just going to nip this in the bud now. Glad there's a viable vaccine regardless of timing.
