For the first time all season, the Georgia Bulldogs find themselves outside of the top-10 in both the AP and Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs fell to No. 11 in this week's Coaches Poll Top-25 and No. 12 in the AP Poll. Georgia was previously No. 5 in both polls. No. 1 Clemson also lost this week, giving Alabama the top

After the last three games, I’m not convinced any more we should even be a top twenty team. I watch other offenses throwing the ball downfield with one highlight reel after another. We may have had three last night (Zamir’s run for sure) and one was on defense.

    Surprised it wasn't 13th or 14th instead of 11th..

Kirby seems to have a real lack of urgency about the O problem. He blames the players rather than the system and O philosophy. Until that changes, we will never change the direction of UGA's offense...which means we have just became a mid-level SEC team.

    pretty generous ranking

I was expecting us to land in the 12-15 range. Even that might have been generous. I know they put up some gaudy passing numbers against us, and maybe I'm just doing what haters do, but I'm still not all that impressed with Florida. It was kind of a strange situation last night, where simultaneously, Florida looked very beatable and we looked out of our league against them. The simplest explanation is that the Dawgs simply aren't a good team this year.

Even Indiana has a better Offensive scheme, a school best known for basketball, not football.. This year it looks like UGA is the yearly version of michigan in the little10.. Overhyped and overrated.

Surprised at our somewhat generous ranking. I would have put us around #15. Who the heck that's any good have we beat? Nobody. We've lost to the best teams already, and unless one of the AP Top 4 teams derails unexpectedly I think you're looking at the probable playoff teams: Bama, OSU, ND, and Clemson. Funny thing is the COVID conference shuffle is the only reason Clemson and ND even played each other. They may see each other again in the ACC Championship....but with Lawrence back. Texas A&M is probably left out of the CFP even if they win out. Bama has already beaten them. As much as I think Florida has improved over last year, I still do not think they beat Bama in the SEC Championship.

This game was not about offensive philosophy and it's not an accurate depiction of the 2020 version of Smart to say the offense is outdated. Hiring Todd Monken is a clear indication of his change in philosophy. This game was about HORRIBLE QB play and a stubborn defensive philosophy. A zone defense would have taken away the wheel routes and with our pass rush and DB'S we could have made Trask put the ball through tight windows. You can't play man when wheel routes and crossing routes are slicing you like razor blades.

When's the last time UGA was ranked behind Cincinnati, BYU, and Indiana? Alternative universe? Nope, just a reality check. Good comments, and a pretty simply observation: You're in trouble when your guy can't throw it and your receivers can't catch it. As far as the D philosophy, wanna try zone, fine, worth a shot. But either way, when you're supposed to be covering a receiver, you kinda' have to get close to them - and it would help if DBs didn't always run with their back to the play and never turn around - a common trait. I've read things Charlton Warren has said and he totally gets it. Probably frustrating for him as well but gotta get these kids to pay attention to fundamentals. And hey, even if you're playing zone, you've still got to cover the guy. Think basketball. You don't just stand there and wave your arms. Ah well, we all have the answers, I guess. Hope somebody does because nobody wants to see another case of the Dawgs drowning in the St. John's River.

Deservedly so. In fact, they are being generous. I picked them 15th. Why? one reason ...QB. No weapon here. Chasing rainbows with these guys. Yes, I am being harsh. We are paying millions upon millions of dollars to field a winner...not a 4 and 2...mid-season. Kirby has blown it at QB. I will say, Newman would have kept UGA in this thing...I believe he would have. JT as well but somehow, Kirby does not like him. Will not allow him one snap. The guy have a wooden leg? I am baffled. I'll give Smart one more year, maybe two, to see if he can do anything with this team. We are back to losing to FL again. And...you can kiss Monken goodbye. He will not remain at UGA. I am thinking the same with Luke. Hit the down arrow...but first take off your rose-colored glasses. This is one of the weaker teams in some time. Find a forward gear...you are in reverse..UGA!

Not sure how you're so certain that Monken has one foot out the door right now. Yeah, it could happen, but he's being payed well to be here. It's a job for him, and he's barely gotten started. To whatever extent you want to argue that being on a struggling team is inherently a reason to leave, one could just as easily argue that professionalism and personal pride would dictate that he give it at least another season to try to make it work. But who knows. This season has left me questioning everything I thought made sense. And of course, all bets are off if he gets another NFL or HC offer. Luke might be a little more inclined to leave, since he's got HC experience and is just a position coach here.

We would be number one in the nation, if it was 1980. But since it's 2020 we are right where we're supposed to be. This loss is either going to be a turning point it the straw that breaks the donors back. Fix this mess coach, you just need a playmaker not game manager under center.

I thought Monken called a good enough game to have us right there if the guys had executed. They didn't. Let's be honest this was not a typical FLA shutdown defense. There were some holes in their normally tough secondary. If we had some one even of Jake Fromm type talent, we would have been toe to toe with them, even with Pickens out. The defense could have rested more and maybe had a little time to get their stuff together.

Time to give Hugh Fries a call. He has Liberty 7-0 and beating more highly recruited teams. Our offense has become painful to watch and rather than make changes, KS keeps beating that square peg into the round hole. Talent alone will beat a lot of teams, but poor coaching will always get exposed by the good teams.
