This is shocking news! I thought Billy Napier would’ve been the guy

My thoughts also, after Satterfield decided not to take the offer by Carolina, and stay at Louisville.

Why would a quality coach want to go to South Carolina. He would make decent money, enough for most of us to retire on in about three years but the chances of satisfying those fans are about slim and none. The day most fans and programs are happy with a mediocre season and mediocre bowl are gone. The sport we love seemingly is being destroyed slowly but surely.

Good luck Shane, but your failure at USC is probably imminent.

Not exactly a proven commodity, so no wonder he jumped at it. I guess he can bring the Sooner concepts to the offense. Sort of a Oh. O.K. hire.

Ok Shane, starting 2mrw we need you out on the recruiting trail. You’re years behind Smart, Saban, and Dabo in recruiting our states best kids. Good luck champ!

Dawgs 247 is reporting that Scott Cochran wants the Vandy job. If that is true, it is my opinion that he has little loyalty to UGA, we are simply a resume builder. He will be offered an assistant coaching position in the next couple years but a HC job after one season as a Special Teams coach is unrealistic.

    Good luck to Shane Beamer.

Strength coach to Special teams coach to Head Coach in 2 seasons? Not buying it.

Did you expect him to be here forever? We were his first stop on his coaching journey. Him wanting to be a head coach is not news. He said from the beginning when he came over he wants to be a head coach some day. We were his first coaching job, that is the very definition of a stepping stone. I don't believe he will get it. I am hoping we have him for a couple more years.

They should have offered the job to the HC at Coastal Carolina.
