ESPN makes the obvious choice for Georgia's 2021 breakout player
Every Georgia fan knows who JT Daniels is at this point in time. He led the Bulldogs to a 4-0 record to end the 2020 season. He jump-started what had been a stagnant offense, as the Bulldogs topped 30-points in their final three SEC games. He then led a game-winning drive against Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl. Daniels

I suppose if throwing for 70% on 38 attempts for 400 yards and a TD is so-so then he was so-so against Cincinnati. I thought he was fine against SC, we just didn’t need to pass to beat them.
Context is everything.
I agree with your second assessment. In the Peach Bowl, he did put up strong numbers, and overall put together a promising performance, but did miss on a few that would have made the game a blowout had he connected. The troubles along the makeshift O line were probably a factor. In any event, it's saying something that his version of having an off day results in roughly 400 yards and a game-winning drive.
Duh.....It is obvious, but JT alone will not allow us to win. We need everyone to step up!
Clemson will be a JTD vs DJU aerial contest. Hopefully, UGA can post a strong defense against the Clemson OL. If they can do this...game over. JTD will do the rest utilizing the RBs, WRs and tight ends. I truly believe UGA can beat Clemson. OSU proved it beyond any doubt..Clemson is beatable...at their peak. UGA has the components for a championship season. Let's get it done.
Yep and yep, down the line. It's funny to see our reactions sometimes. The blogs are filled with breathless anticipation for a QB just now on campus, who posted some really nice HS numbers in a lower classification in GA (100+ TD's for example) - a terrific young man and hopefully a terrific future player at UGA.
Meanwhile, some still have JTD on the "we'll see" list.
A kid who threw for 152 TDs / 14 INTs / 12,000+ yards, in probably the toughest league in the country, playing a national schedule, while winning H.S. Player of the Year honors and a H.S. National Championship ---- and didn't even play his final year - he was starting at USC by then - a full year early. I'd say we've got a diamond in hand. Not a diamond "in the rough" but a diamond that has yet to shine as brightly as he is going to.
And I love the quiet confidence and the deflection of praise to others.
Yeah, agreed - "we'll see" but I, for one, can't wait.
With all these guys coming back (RB, WR, DL, LB), if the O Line can mesh and Erickson becomes the next (at least close) David Andrews (those line calls are critical), all we've got to do is try to get Charlton to get his DBs to stop trying to cover with their backs turned, and UGA could be "frighteningly" good.
But I guess we have to actually play the games. ****! LOL!
As far as offense goes, I hope Daniels has a breakout year, and he has shown enough that with a full year, and a full Spring practice, I think it's safe to say he will improve.
But, for the offense to truly take the next step the O-line is where we need to see the most improvement. That will be the difference in a good or a great offense in 2021.
Why do they keep denouncing his SCU performance? We ran the ball constantly and hit some big pass plays when we did throw. Geez. 42 rushes vs 16 passes and 8-10 on 4rd down.
And against Cincy he almost threw for 400 yards. One INT was because a receiver ran the wrong route. 68% comp pct too! Then, he led a smooth drive to get the GW FG. Lord have mercy ....do they ever bother to use facts?
