Georgia football finally finding equal facility footing, coaches in new building
UGA's $80 million building will soon host recruits

Woof!
This speaks loudly: UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA FOOTBALL OF THE FUTURE!
GO DAWGS!!!
If UGA could bring it's first National Championship in football since 1980, even if the facilities were large circus tents, they would still get recruits. Players want to play for Championships. Richt was fired, not because he was a sorry coach, but couldn't bring that elusive National Title to UGA. Kirby can coach and can recruit, but their records are almost identical after 5 years. The team needs to get back to the big game this year, and bring home the title.
Richt's first 5 years were never the problem. And obviously, we all hope for a national championship going into every year, but the "now or never" narrative is a false one. Sorry if I'm misinterpreting your comment, but that's what you seem to be getting at.

Kirby needs to be compared to Richt's last five years, which is what got him fired, not the first five years. I see a big improvement and still like the direction of the program.
Richt got fired because, by his own admission, he became complacent. McGarity enabled the complacency. The best example of the enabling is when he gave Richt a raise and extension for winning the BELK BOWL while stating, “10 wins are enough.” I can’t imagine Kirby ever resting on his laurels even after winning multiple nattys much less stringing together some 10 win seasons with mid level bowls.
