I don't recall seeing the film, but I was at The Wall Tour Concert at old Atlanta Fulton County Stadium with a group of Brothers, friends and girlfriends, it was amazing. The only negative was we were close to speakers and the sound almost caused me to have a seizure, they were known as maybe the loudest band touring at that time, they had massive sound equipment. They actually had masons building a wall with what must have been very light weight material while the concert went on. Near the end of their final song ( The Wall I believe) a large model plane on a wire was crashed into the thing, it was quite a show.
Dang what a cool experience though!
Always thought that the Wall got Disproportionate AirPlay compared to other good Pink Floyd albums such as echoes and animals.
Animals is my favorite. Wish you were here, then the wall
Pink Floyd is awesome but i never had a notion to see the film.
Dark side of the Moon also good.
Dark Side Of The Moon gave Pink Floyd's music a reputation as being psychodelic, but other than a few cuts from that album their music was unique but pretty straight forward to my thinking. Dark Side is a great and innovative LP, it may or may not be their best album, but it's their most important one.
That's awesome TFK. I've seen the film countless times. The artwork is incredible. Congrats on the acquisition.
Huge Floyd fan. The live version of The Wall (is there anybody out there) is vastly superior to the studio version IMHO.
The film I think was just Roger dealing with his daddy issues and alienating David, Richard and Nick even more than he did during Animals. And listening to Geldof telling him he didn’t need them any more. Mistake.
If you haven’t listened to Gilmours 1978 solo album you need to.
Got to second the recommendation on that Gilmour album. Good stuff. Also worth a listen is the interesting and somewhat challenging work by Syd Barrett, The MadCap Laughs.
If you're a PF fan and not aware of how the band got its name there's an interesting write up here.

Personally was never that big on Pink Floyd but had quite a few friends that were. Got to give them credit as they certainly could sell some vinyl.
Gilmour was the most creative artist and best musician in Pink Floyd. The 1994 live version of Comfortably Numb recorded in London is on my short list of best live material in the rock genre, though calling it rock is maybe a stretch. Gilmour was in peak form during the solo.
PF was great live, though they did take advantage of then state of the art sound technologies to enhance their music.
The scene where the young boy was trying to hold the hand of another father at the park was poignant. My first DVD lol
If stating that fact offends a poster, he or she has an aversion to a straightforward truth. It's not like they tried to hide it.
