Overall the transfer portal has been great for our Dawgs!!! Yes indeed we have lost some good players, but we have also lost a bunch of guys who weren’t going to contribute. The portal has freed-up scholarships that have almost always been filled by impact players. I like the way the portal has helped us weed-out players who either can’t handle the competition or aren’t 100% committed to our program. Go Dawgs!!!

Well I sure am glad that Arik Gilbert, Tykee Smith and Derion Kendrick either couldn't "handle the competition or weren’t 100% committed to" their previous programs.

Glad UGA got out front on this portal transfer business. Our roster is now deep and loaded with talent. So we can sit back this summer and watch who wins the LT position. Most football teams would just love to have only one line up decision come August.

What we have learned is if you have problems with roster management and player development, the transfer portal can be a life saver. For everyone going forward the addition of the NIL is going to make it even more difficult. As has been the case for some teams this year you complete spring practice with one team and enter fall practice with a different one. Building depth for some teams is going to be a huge problem and will impact team performance and records.
