Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Was that a culture shock for you?
Well, we moved to Georgia when I was 10. And moved back North three years later. But that was greater Atlanta. So I was somewhat use to the culture.
In '71, I stayed at Sanford Hall, third floor. Each room had a card with your name and where you were from. We had kids from Pennsylvania, Jersey, kids from South Georgia, kids from Atlanta (they were the most outrageous).
My first roommate was Keith from Thomasville.

They definitely do have rules for that. The rules are so strict they even keep born female women from competing against other women because of naturally high testosterone levels.
What about the NIL laws that were enacted this year so that players could get paid in certain states. The NCAA changed rules because of those laws. And in some states/countries smoking pot is legal, so why is it banned if it does not help your performance and it is legal?
Rules are not as black and white as we would like them to be.
I agree with the dumb part wholeheartedly, I just wanted to make a joke and an addendum.
Agree….all rules aren’t clear.
But marijuana being a banned substance is very clear. And she knew it was.
I agree, but if you feel okay about condemning someone from breaking a dumb rule with hardships that she and many others Americans have gone through this year, good for you.
I don’t use drugs myself and I hardly drink, but I’m not going to say someone deserves punishment when the made a mistake while trying to cope with the loss of her mother.
And @texdawg I’m just responding to your comment. I’m not trying to put words in your mouth, I’m just trying to continue the conversation.
I get it. I’m not for condemning her. She is a local Dallas runner. And certainly have no problem with someone trying to change the rule. I don’t have a problem with them changing the rule so she is able to compete.
But it is a rule. And the consequences for breaking the rule were well known. This is entirely on her.
She isn’t banned because of a **** rule. She is banned because she chose to break a **** rule.
I would like to fess up. I am currently not eligible to participate in Olympic sports. I will notify all when and if my status changes.
they have ONE rule for men to compete as a woman in the Olympics:
"The new guidelines require only that trans woman athletes declare their gender and not change that assertion for four years, as well as demonstrate a testosterone level of less than 10 nanomoles per liter for at least one year prior to competition and throughout the period of eligibility. Athletes who transitioned from female to male were allowed to compete without restriction. These guidelines were in effect for the 2016 Rio Olympics"
so, just keep your testosterone below a certain level for 12 months and you are a woman. so I was wrong in saying no rules. WAY different!
I say let her compete and run and leave home anyone who disrespects our national anthem.
Got to love the nonchalance of an IOC committee member when talking about crushing someone’s dream. /s
Also, his name is Legendary.
If the NCAA/Olympic committe wants to change the rules to allow marajuana, then have at it and there is no more issues on this matter. And while some states may allow it, it is still illegal on the federal level. Neither the NCAA or the Olympic Committee operate on a state-by-state basis. But until then...
"But Your Honor, I needed the money to buy pot for my family. I mean, that law against robbing banks is out of date and I shouldn't be punished if it helps me get by. That rule shouldn't apply to me." Seems fairly black and white.
