- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Greg Sankey: ‘Open mind’ needed, Texas, Oklahoma additions trigger scheduling, divisional changes
ATHENS — SEC commissioner Greg Sankey wants everyone to keep an open mind and allow for some “blue-sky thinking” with the pending addition of Texas and Oklahoma.

The simplest answer would be to move bama & the barn to the East and put ou & ut(w) in the west. I suspect that is exactly what will happen. Also I guess they will end up eliminating the permanent cross over games and have each team play two teams from the other division with rotation occurring more often. ie eliminate home & away for the cross over games. -Just my WAG at it.
Say hello to a 2 loss, SECC and perhaps NC. Or did they (the SEC) just cut their own throats as far as NC's go? CLemson in a weak conference and Ohio St. just having to beat a couple pf decent teams every year and those two teams are virtual locks annually in the playoffs. Throw in a undefeated PAc 10 and the SEC might be doing well to get 1 team in and what do you do with a 2 loss SECC?
Greed ruins the best laid plans. You talk about a blood bath in the SEC.
Who declared the Bama/AU rivalry the biggest in the SEC?
Welcome.....to the SEC Zoo.
@RxDawg Seriously?
I mean, it's fine to disagree. But that's been the public perception for quite some time.
I actually like the idea of Bama and AU moving to the east! UF will move down the pecking order and the biggest game of the season will become Bama and the Dawgs for the SEC East championship creating a new “biggest rivalry” in college football.
On another note, there would almost certainly be a move to a nine game bloodletting conference schedule making the need for scheduling cupcakes for out of conference games more appealing. Kirby will have to rethink his OOC strategy.
Sometimes simple is better. The only "rivalry" that would suffer in bringing the Iron Bowl to the east is Bama/lsu. The move absolutely dictates a 12 team playoff and one less regular season cupcake. This landscape looks very interesting. Two of the top 5 national rivalry games in our division along with two of the top four recruiting schools. Are ready or are you skeerd?
PS: this is the perfect opportunity to get rid "all in for the 404."
If Bama and Auburn come to the East who is going to the West? That would leave 9 teams in the east and 7 in the west. You moving Mizzou to the West?
Just leave things as they are now, and simply move Texas and Oklahoma to each of the divisions. Texas to the west, Oklahoma to the east. Or Texas to the east, and Oklahoma to the west. Whatever. They're the new guys, so they shouldn't have any say where we put them. I'd put them in the PAC 12 if it were up to me! 🤣
One thing I've learned a long time ago, change doesn't always work out for the better.
And for the love of precious kittens, PLEASE keep the SEC championship game in Atlanta! It's already proven a hit where it is.
Whatever the outcome of the divisions there needs to be more parity between them....however that looks. The West has been the tougher division by far for a very long time and 95% of the SEC Champions have come from the West. We need things to change, and I'd love to see the Dawgs play some tougher SEC opponents on a regular basis - win or lose.
Keep the the conferences the same except for let auburn Alabama move east . Move Missouri to the west and let UT and OU join them
Moving Alabama and Auburn to the East and OU and Tex to the west is as sure as the sunrise.
It’s by far the most practical solution.
I’m looking forward to it. I agree with the previous commenter that UGA-Alabama would immediately become the biggest annual rivalry in college football.
One thing college football is different from the nfl is it wasn’t always about money. Now with nil it will be. I always loved the rivalries and I didn’t care which school was playing. It was the passion of love and hate. I respect GT, tenn, auburn, fla, sc, Kentucky, Vanderbilt fans because their was passion behind the games and players! Even if they knew their team was more than likely to lose they showed up(with the exception of GT)! The sec has been smart about everything they have done, even though some institutions decided to leave, I will let the powers be and they know things I do not. Something is in the air no one knows. I assume all of the college teams are about to form 3 to 4 super alliances! What we knew 3 years ago of college sports is about to dramatically change! I just hope for the better!
@Classof98 playing UA might become the greatest annual rivalry for UGA just like it is for LSU. It will not be for Bama as it will remain Auburn.
