Georgia football stock report: California freshman and ‘Mr. Anderson,’ have soaring value
Georgia football completed what Coach Kirby Smart refers to as the “camp” portion of fall drills with Scrimmage 2 on Saturday, now turning the page to set offensive identity and game plan for Clemson.

One player you missed who's stock should be up (because Kirby sent him to talk to the press) is Ameer Speed. He is somewhat soft-spoken and not a sexy recruit, but will be one of the starting CB's against Clemson and is our most experienced d-back. The only reason that Kirby keeps talking about A. Smith is because you keep asking about him. I put the over/under on Smith receptions against Clem at +/-2.0. If speed (no pun intended) were all it took to be a wide receiver, then there would be no track stars. While he may be fast, he is far down the ladder in terms of experience and readiness to play. However, in terms of who is poised to make an impact on the team this fall, my vote goes to "The Real Speed" to be the breakout d-back of the season.
@JimDawg85 They always say there is one thing you can't coach, speed. Saying A. Smith is just a track star is selling his receiver abilities a bit short. Kid has some good hands, better than D-Rob who dropped almost every deep ball he got his hands on. Smith needs very little space and he is off to the races. He is a faster (more fragile) version of Hardman.
Why talk down one player just to talk up another, who plays a completely different position, no less? Smith's big play potential is obvious, and something defenses will have to respect. He's not just fast, he gets open and makes catches. If for whatever reason he ends up falling short of expectations, that's one thing. But I see no reason to be questioning his ability before the season even begins.
Your analysis is laughable… do you even keep up with the team regularly? If you did, you’d know that the only thing that really kept A Smith off the field last year was nagging injuries. And even still when he did make it on the field, half the season we didn’t have a QB who could throw it deep. He creates a unique threat and there is absolutely no evidence to support that he’s “far down the ladder” ha. Agree with E_Roc. No reason to knock him just because your higher on A Speed.
