Howell was hurried and off target much of the game. VT's DBs did a good job as well.

Why would any recruit want to commit to NC and play for 2nd place in the ACC every year when you can play the best and possibly BE the best team in the country at UGA? I am talking to you Mr. Shaw. It is a no brainer. NC Coach Mack Brown is 70 years old. He looked like a coach that may not still be coaching in 2-3 years.

Fromm was able do it well with Lawrence Cager healthy(Florida 95% completion rate on 3rd downs) winning game. But when Cager was sidelined, completion rate dropped until Pickens picked up the slack and had 150 yrds in bowl game against Baylor in 1st half. Daniels started and completed 90+% to targets to Pickens, and all was good.. Now he will have to connect to lesser talented WR's(experience) and the overall picture is different. The WR's have to be good, and on the same page for us to win this game. I'm hoping for a great transformation of the new guys to step up...GO DAWGS

I know you can’t replicate a real game, Especially against an opponent like Clemson. But I’m just hoping our receivers having to work against our D have honed their skills and that helped better prepare them for this game. The majority of the media pundits seem fixated on the Clemson D. Yes the Tigers D do deserve respect going into this game, but I sure don’t think the Dawgs D are a slouch !! Time will tell the story but the Dawgs may evolve into one of the best if not THE best Ds in all college football !! If our defensive front and LBs can generate enough pressure to take some of the heat off our talented but inexperienced secondary allot of teams may Discover the Dawgs D the hard way as the season goes on !! The Same can be said for our Receivers. If our RBs and Fitz can generate some good plays things Will open up for our receivers. Special Teams needs to have a great game as well. If we could win this game by a FG I’d be very happy. Taking into consideration our injuries. And if the Dawgs go on to run their regular season table the score will not matter vs Clemson only the W will matter. That’s the main thing media will remember is the final score *****Fellow Dawgs fans if we lose this game try not to be to disappointed as that would not end the Dawgs hopes but yeah would make it harder. What we should look for Win or Lose is how hard do our Dawgs fight and how well do they perform. Do the players and coaches leave their very best on the field Win or Lose ?? That’s what I’m gonna be looking at. I sure hope they do. Go Dawgs !!

Tonight is like Christmas eve to me and tomorrow is THE DAY! So excited! Even though I'm in AZ, I'll be tuned in all day from GameDay to gametime. Go Dawgs and safe travels to everyone going to the game! Will be pacing like Larry, but wouldn't have it any other way...GO DAWGS!

There was a comment made during the first half that VT just looked like the faster team. I have to agree. Not sure I saw anything in the UNC team (offense or defense) that warranted a top 10 rating. As for Howell, he pretty much dropped out of the Heisman race in week 1.

Brown made possibly the dumbest coaching call of all time during the end of the game. Carolina on offense, 1:32 left, 3 timeouts, and uses not 1. Waits until 30 seconds left, VT with the ball and prolongs the inevitable by calling timeouts then..too little, too late Mack. Even a high school coach would've handled those remaining timeouts better than Brown did.

Always have a back up plan or a safety valve to throw to. JUst like against Cincy on the closing drive. Look for Kenny!

I'm not sure how applicable the Cager comparison is. Daniels has had the entire off-season to work with this group. Losing Washington of course hurts, but it's not the same thing as losing your top target mid-season.
