AP Poll Top 25 Week 3: Georgia football benefits from Ohio State loss
Multiple top 10 teams lost on Saturday, with Ohio State being one of the most surprising as the Buckeyes lost at home as a two-touchdown favorite.

"Two future Georgia opponents found themselves ranked, with Florida sitting at No. x, and Auburn coming in at No. xx. Both teams will take on ranked teams this week, as Florida hosts Alabama, while the Tigers travel to Penn State."
Awesome writing here, you can't even be bothered to put the actual rankings??
I don't understand SEC fans rooting for other SEC teams. You root against anyone you recruit against. Some of the shine being off LSU (last year) and OSU (this year) puts UGA in a better light. aTm falling on their face this year would be great for UGA. The #1 player in the "22 recruiting cycle is DB Travis Hunter from Suwanee, GA. He is committed to FSU. FSU losing to Jax St yesterday should be making him think about winning at the next level. The best thing UGA can do for recruiting is to make the CFB playoff and/or beat Bama. Clemson and OSU dropping down a level makes them less attractive to recruits. Let's face it the 2 guys that built Clemson into what they are were from GA (Sunshine, Watson). Other teams get a lot of talent from GA and FL that might otherwise select UGA if those teams came down. Forget rooting for the SEC vs ?. UGA getting to the top will do more for sustaining excellence.
The headline is confusing. How did we benefit from a loss by a team that was already ranked behind us? They were two-touchdown favorites, so it can't be assumed that they would have automatically jumped us with a wi- oh, right, it's Ohio State. Never mind.
Georgia opens as a 32-point home favorite over the Gamecocks.
How long has it been since the line has been that high in this series?
Exactly where do you see Bama losing to anyone on their schedule? Texas A/M had maybe the best chance but looked awful against Colorado and lost their 1st string Qb as well, not sure when and if he will be back for that game.
Connor, How did the Buckeyes losing help UGA? They were never going to jump us even if they win. You just have to put your negative passive aggressive spin on anything to do with UGA. Please quit. Maybe you can put together some positive writing for your favorite LameCocks.
Oh, yeah, Auburn and UF were already ranked. They did not "find themselves ranked".
UGA benefitted by picking up more points in the poll. We were at 1514 this week behind Bama’s 1572. Last week, we were at 1507 to Bama’s 1571. The assertion is that UGA picked up more points because Ohio State lost and the new teams just below us were not ranked as strongly. It’s a little esoteric, but a valid take.
While I would love for every team in the East to lose, the fact is, I root for my conference when playing out of conference because it makes my conference look to be the stronger conference. That way, when I play those teams and beat them, I look stronger. You play the schedule you are given but I like to be known as the premier conference and that comes with wins against non-SEC teams.
Except florida. I want them to lose every game they ever played in embarrassing fashion.
@BigMike
The 2007 edition of the Dawgs had a stellar defense IMO.
