Los Bravos' magic number is down to 11. Still a ways to go but things have improved with a 2 game win streak. The Phillies need to keep cooperating.

I am loving it! If we can take at least 3 of 4 against the Diamondbacks, that will put us in great shape for San Diego and beyond!
Magic number is now 10!
If Los Bravos play .500 from here on out, what does Philly have to do to pass us ? Math guys ?
We have 13 games left, assuming we make up the rained out Rockies game, and the Phillies have 11 games , all counting tonight.
So say we go 7-6. That would make the magic number 3. So, basically, the Phillies would have to win 7 to keep pace and then it looks like they would have to win 4 more to overtake us.
Sound right?
So, if my math is right, they would have to go 11-0 if we go 7-6.
Wow!!
And it may also depend a little bit on when we win the 7 games so the math may be a little off
But I still like our chances!!
thanks. I feel pretty good right now. They are up 3-1 in the 2nd inning tonight.
Yeah but the Phillies just won😔
I think the Phillies are going to Pittsburgh next while we go to San Diego
A magic number... represents the total of additional wins by the front-running team or additional losses (or any combination thereof) by the rival teams after which it is mathematically impossible for the rival teams to capture the title in the remaining number of games.

Braves and Phillies both won again last night, so the number dropped from 10 to 9.
That means if any combination of Braves' wins and Phillies' losses reaches 9, we clinch the division.
If we win 9 more games, it doesn't matter what Philly does.
If we win 8 more, we just need Philly to lose one.
7...2
6...3
5...4
Etc.
Muchas Gracias. Sure wish we could play a 10 game series against the Diamondbacks.
It's now one!! Could be time to pop a cold root beer tonight.
But just look what we have done to San Diego and the Phillies!
Playing our best ball at just the right time. Love what we have done to the Phillies alleged MVP--Bryce has been manhandled by Morton and Fried --has struck out five times by my count with no hits, I believe.
While our MVP-Riley has been resplendent!!!
Rise to the task, Braves!! One more to go!
There are no magic numbers, just magic people, like Brian Snitker.
It is fun to see us handle their MVP candidate. I hope voters take this into account. At the biggest moments in the season, he came up lacking. One of our guys, Riley, didn't.
