I would rather be #2 throughout the season to keep us hungry. I’ve seen bama lose before and not lose again. A lot of people are happy tonight, but I’d rather be #1 when it matters at the end. Go Dawgs!!
Goooooooo Dawgs!!
Though I wanted Kirby to be the first former Saban assistant to beat him, if we beat him in the SEC Championship, that means no Alabama in the playoffs. I so like the thought of that. Maybe Saban will decide to retire.
We will be!
Go Dawgs!
Sic ‘em!
Any AP voter that votes for any team other than UGA should lose his/her voting rights. Through five games it was Bama, the Dawgs, then everyone else. Now, there is only one.
That being said, all that really matters is Kentucky! The Wildcats are going to find out that Athens is not Lexington and the Dawgs are not LSU nor UF!
That is what I am talking about!
@ShoottheHooch , you da man!
The time to be #1 is AFTER the last game. Means nothing now. BUT it MAY mean that UGA will only have to beat Bama once this season. IF UGA beats Bama in the SECCG it is unlikely that a 2 loss Bama makes the final 4 field. aTm beating Bama helps their recruiting (Bear, Buie and others)but still worth not having to beat Bama twice.
Let's just hope the Dawgs stay focused & not let this do anything but motivate them to leave no doubt they are the best. Games against Kentucky, Florida, a little trip to Knoxtown & others before Atlanta makes that #1 ranking nothing but a huge bullseye.
Yes, It means the SECCG would be a CFP elimination game, if Georgia beats Bama. Not having to play them, or any team twice would be nice.
Being number one is huge when it comes to recruiting. Coach Smart and the others can say come to Georgia,-The number one ranked team in the country.
Although I know people are going to hate me when I say this, but I just have to....it's good to see a head coach figure out how to not blow their halftime lead over Bama and take it all the way! Ouch! Well, hopefully Kirby will have another opportunity to make things right against Bama before the season is finished.
GO DAWGS!!
One game at a time, and Kentucky is next. Put what you have done in the past in the past. Put all the future games after Kentucky aside, concentrate all your energy in beating the Wildcats because they are next and stand in the way of your goals. It will be a cat and dog fight, most of those type of battles the Dawg comes out on top.
