November 9, 1985. UGA took a team that ended up 7-3-2 (ties were a thing then) to Jacksonville and beat the #1 Florida Gators. Beat them mercilessly in a 24-3 game. I had friends that went even though it seemed bleak at the time. They came back to Athens elated. After the game there were signs in Athens: "Number One for a Week. Oh, I am Impressed." Florida was ranked #1 that week of the game for what had to have been the first time ever.

There have already been some freak events this year in college football so consider saving your trash talk for after the game ... and then unload it relentlessly after a UGA victory.

Yes, folks I know that went to the game said by the end the whole crowd was chanting "Four whole days, Four whole days!"

because the rankings came out on Tuesday back then. What a sight that must have been!

Fingers crossed for another beatdown with the good guys on top!

    Go Dawgs! GATA!
