Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:

- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Happy Birthday, Marines!
Happy Birthday to all the Devil Dogs out there! Here's me as a young Butter Bar in 1994. Feel free to post some Old Corps (or New Corps) photos of yourself.

God bless you and thank you for your service!
My dad's brother in law was a Marine who served in Korea from the Inchon Landing to the Chosin Reservoir...man, the stories he would tell about how cold it was for a boy from south Georgia!
He said it was so cold that the oil would freeze in their diesel engines, so they ran the engines 24 hours a day with no oil.
One of the kindest men I ever knew, God rest his soul.
Happy Birthday, Marines, and thank you all for your service!
In every climb and place, the world over. I would like to wish my Marine Corps family a happy 246th birthday today!!! SEMPER FI!!!

Aw man! You guys look so young in those pictures!’ What happened? 😂
I believe that it’s called getting old. 😂
And 4 kids!!! I’ve got 2 boys in their 30’s!! I can’t imagine 4 children. You have my utmost admiration!
I still look the same... :/
Well, well… that is simply OUTSTANDING!!!! Ahem… sir.
You Sir, are still in the “Officer’s country” from my enlisted perspective, and I will always remember to maintain my military bearing when addressing my superiors. Even as an old 58 year old has been Sergeant. Happy Birthday Sir. Semper Fi.
And? GO DAWGS!!!
We are all just "former" Marines now. Semper Fi, Brother!
@pgjackson Thank you very much. I think there must be some kind of dust in here? Got a little something in my eyes.
Happy Birthday fellow Belleau Woodsmen and goodnight Chesty wherever you are.
This Marine, LtGen. Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller (the Marines Marine) was (is) the USMC Standard that all Marines revere. If you do not have any personal knowledge of this Marine Corps Legend? I suggest (at a minimum) looking him up on a google search. Better still, check out any number of at least a half dozen biography’s that have been written on the only man ever to be awarded FIVE NAVY CROSSES. He probably sits somewhere down the hall from the Pearly Gates in the guardhouse of the father:

The streets of Heaven are, indeed, guarded by US Marines.
I’m not a marine but I’m familiar with Parris Island. I’ve fumigated the golf course there several times over the years. I’ll never forget, the officer who was my contact informing me to wash only with ivory soap before coming to Parris Island bc the horse flies are attracted to anything scented. It helped, I never had many problems with them. I recall that the sand gnats where terrible at times though.
Happy Birthday USMC, and thanks for your service to our country!!!
