Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Totally agree!!!
That's great news! Hopefully, will get people more able to play, whether out of protocol or less time for "extracurricular" activities!
Florida just reported 20,194 cases for yesterday. The number last Tuesday was 6,840 and Miami has been hit the hardest. The less time in S Florida the better.
How does that compare with Michigan?
The booster won't stop anyone from getting it and or testing positive. Just how bad they get it. And supposedly in the SEC you only have to test someone if they show symptoms. Do you think some teams are ignoring symptoms? No way as bad as it is in Michigan that none of their players have it.
Wondering if this was mentioned? Suppose Cincy and Bama both can't play on 12/31, but Mich/UGA can. Does UGA/Mich winner wait until Cincy/Bama can play? Surely they thought that could happen.
Bama/Cincy would be no contest, winner of UGA/Michigan would be National Champion
In that scenario, the winner of UGA/Mich is the national champ. It was covered by CFP release today.
Thanks
IRVING, Texas – The College Football Playoff (CFP) Management Committee today announced a series of new actions it will take to protect student-athlete health and safety as the omicron virus has spread in advance of the College Football Playoff.
“As we prepare for the Playoff, it’s wise and necessary to put into place additional precautions to protect those who will play and coach the games,” said Bill Hancock, Executive Director of the CFP. “These policies will better protect our students and staffs while providing clarity in the event worst-case scenarios result.”
The changes were based on a recommendation from the Management Committee during a video conference yesterday, December 21, 2021.
The following are the policies for the Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl and Peach Bowl if an institution determines that it is unable to compete in the game because an insufficient number of athletes are available to play because of COVID-19.
1. Fiesta and Peach Bowls – The CFP, bowl game and ESPN shall attempt to identify an alternate date for the game within one week of the scheduled date; if no date can be identified, the game would be considered no contest.
2. Playoff Semifinals (Cotton and Orange Bowls) if one team is unavailable to play – The unavailable team shall forfeit the game and its opponent would advance to the national championship game.
3. Playoff Semifinals (Cotton and Orange Bowls) if both teams are unavailable to play in one semifinal – The semifinal game would be declared “no contest” and the team winning the other semifinal game would be declared the CFP National Champion.
4. Playoff Semifinals (Cotton and Orange Bowls) if three teams are unavailable to play – The semifinal game in which two teams are unable to play would be declared “no contest.” In the other semifinal game, the team unable to play shall forfeit the game and its opponent would be declared CFP National Champion.
5. CFP National Championship – If the team’s unavailability is determined after the Playoff Semifinals have been conducted, the national championship game in Indianapolis may be rescheduled to no later than Friday, January 14. If one team is able to play and the other is not and the game cannot be rescheduled or is rescheduled and cannot be played, then the team unable to play shall forfeit the game and the other team shall be declared CFP National Champion. If both teams are unable to play on either an original or rescheduled date, then the game shall be declared “no contest” and the CFP National Championship shall be vacated for this season.
The AD for each school has to verify that all people on the field tested negative within 72 hours of the game or are vaccinated.
It is a fast breaking ball game, with the rules being rewritten this week! Who would have thought the Natty may come down to Covid management this year?! I read that Bama's team is more than 90% boosted (all three shots) already. I also read that UGA and MI will make the booster available today, and I read that Cincy won't release numbers. It sounds like advantage Saban at this point.
Saban always has advantage
LOL
Thanks for sharing!
Was there any mention in this release as to whether there would be placed a limitation on fans in attendance? I guess if the games are played there wouldn't be.
No mention of limits on attendance. Up to the State not the NCAA. Limited access to the field pre and post game was the only thing mentioned....and up to the school as far as students, band, cheerleaders etc.....
