Might be done with Yellowstone
Well, Season 4 was a huge disappointment. It's gone off the rails in typical American TV style. Good for three series, then it gets so far-fetched and outrageous it's not enjoyable any more. Don't really care about any of the characters any more or any of the storylines.

Guess I am glad I don’t watch it….🤭
Same.
My wife and I are behind by 5 episodes. So 4th season is over?
The Lloyd story really bummed me out. He's been one of my favorite characters and I didn't like the direction they took (at least through episode 4 or 5).
Have you watched "1883"? I recorded the free premiere episode, but still haven't signed up for Paramount+.
Season's 1-3 are very good and worth the time. But season 4 just plodded along like the writers didn't know where to go. One thing that makes me shake my head a bit is their excessive use of cowboy hats. Virtually every male character in the show wears a hat every waking moment. And what's with the flipped up collars? Come on.
I'm on the fence about that one. Looks like another Hollywood stereotype show. When the Ft. Worth Sheriff walks into the bar and executes 5 or 6 bad guys in cold blood and everyone calmly goes back to playing cards....that had me thinking this was just another bad western. Or when Elsa almost gets raped on her first day and dads shoots the guy dead right on top of her....then the next morning she's all dressed in white prancing through the fields with her idyllic lamentations of wonderment like nothing happened. Stuff straight out of a Louis L'amore dimestore novella.
It's Montana, lots of people there wear western hats. I'm in Florida, and I wear western hats outside when I'm not wearing a motorcycle helmet. As a dermatologist I want to set a good example.
I lived in South Texas for a couple of year. Lots of hats there....but not indoors, in your own house, not everyone every waking moment. These guys can't even sit on their front porch without a hat on.
I don’t think this season was terrible. But yeah, doesn’t seem like the writers knew where to go with the story. I’m glad Kayce can hangout on the mountainside with his make believe wolf all season. WTH was that about? Then send Jimmy to Texas, come backs, then leaves for good. What’s the point of that?
4th season definitely not as good as the first 3
Also by and large most of the male characters are real cattle working cowboys, or wannabes. Most the cowboys I've met wear the hats, all the time. Also and I find this funny is that they share a superstition that my wife's family has, they won't put a hat on a bed..it's bad luck. I find it funny as my wife's family is from New York City and Jewish. I agree they need a new storyline, I mean Beth can't get much more mean without growing horns and a tail.
Yeah, Kayce is the State Livestock Commissioner....which appears to be the 3rd most powerful position in the state complete with his own SWAT force....and he's out in the woods on some hocus-pocus journey to figure out why there is a wolf in his yard. Jimmy was a complete waste of time. Who cares? Did it add anything to the show? Did he really change? John declares he's running for Governor....but has done nothing to campaign. Somehow a back-woods militia group pulls off a near perfect Delta-Force-quality coordinated, multi-prong simultaneous attack, blowing up city buildings, shooting up government facilities resulting in who knows how many deaths....none of it drawing any attention from anyone outside of the city. It's just getting dumb.
The best moment in Season 4 was last night when the judge was reaming out the hippie chick. Was a direct statement on the current "mostly peaceful protest" thing happening across the country. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, but it was pretty epic.
@pgjackson there were several statements the judge made that I thought were great I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has not seen it. But it's worth watching.
Setting up the new series 6666. Taylor Sheridan actually bought the 6666 for filming. Actually he bought it with a group. Taylor is doing well…but not quite that well.
No spoilers please!
