Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

As soon as we can reach 4,000 pre-orders, the state of Florida will be issuing UGA specialty license tags. Deadline is 10/16/21, but we should get there well before. Alabama and Auburn already have more that twice the pre-orders than UGA. Pre-orders are $33.86. Not available for motorcycles😕, nor RV's. You should let BA know. If you reach out via Twitter or the comments section of the most recent podcast he will see it and probably share it on the podcast.
Just to clarify on a couple of fronts, the law was passed in March 2020, and I believe the deadline is October 2022. Bad news is, we only have about 400 orders in so far. Good news is, there's still plenty of time to hit the 4000 threshold. But we definitely need to get the word out. Will take a coordinated effort by the Athletic Department, the Alumni Association, and the fan base/grass roots via forums like this and social media as well.
Update: Sad news, very few are presold, Auburn and Alabama are way ahead. We need to get this done, Florida Dawgs!
Wow, I am just now finding out about this. I remember when I got my first car and asked my dad if he thought I’d be able to find one of these (circa 2008) , he laughed. Hopefully we can get it done. Go dawgs from Tampa.
Bump, Get it done! Go Dawgs!!
As a proud Floridian, I really don't like this idea. Florida probably has more license plate options than any other state. We seem to have one for everything...and Florida makes a lot of money from them. But having out of state organizations on a Florida plate makes no sense. How would you feel if Georgia had a FU or FSU plate available? This is probably the only time you will see me against promoting UGA.
Georgia offers tons of college specialty plates, including the Florida schools. You could even get a Michigan State tag if you felt inclined
Interesting. I haven't lived in Georgia since 2007. Still seems weird to me.
I feel you. But it’s not uncommon for southern states. I’ve seen UGA tags from Texas to NC, so almost seems like Florida not having them is an outlier. Selfishly as a Florida resident, I’d like the UGA plates
You are correct , of course, but nothing burns my butter more than seeing an Auburn or UF specialty plate on a Georgia state tag.
Go Dawgs!
As a matter of fact, UGA is promoting this, and will get a portion of the sales.
Just moved to Florida myself. I’m down with some dawg plates! Lots of Dawgs in our area just south of JAX
Wonder what Mullen thinks about this idea? Not like we care or anything…
I live in Fleming Island and attend the Georgia Bulldog Club of Jacksonville meetings. At the Georgia Florida meeting this past season they talked about this and encouraged people to pre-pay.
I’m in the market to purchase on Fleming. Market is nuts!!
