Georgia football hired Stacy Searels as its new offensive line coach on Monday.

I’m very happy with this hire and impressed that 2 accomplished coaches (Richt and Mack Brown) both hired Stacy twice. That says it all to me because they knew what they were getting. Go Dawgs!!!
Awesome.
No word about the potential return of Gilbert?
A lot of folks have been chirping that this is a disappointing hire. I TRUST Kirby. Be built us into NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. He knows what he's doing. His frame of mind bringing in former coaching partners and UGA guys is probably his way to try and reduce the churning of losing coaches every year like Saban has had to deal with for years.
The proof will be in the performance on the field and in the type recruits he can bring in. Go DAWGS! Hopefully we will be like BAMA where the only thing consistent in the coaching is the guy at the top. And he moves the needle!
Read on 247 that he's already back, working out with the early enrollees for 2022. A little odd that DawgNation hasn't reported it if it's true....
My bet is that among the first questions Kirby has for a hire at any position is "Do you WANT too work as many hours as I deem necessary to get the job done?". My bet is that has become one of the questions that has only one satisfactory answer for Kirby. My only questionable area regarding Coach Searels is "why has he remained an OL coach for most of his career?" Could be that that is his passion and he doesn't want anything else.
I agree with Connor and as I said it on one other post and I'll say it again....."FIT." Kirby is fixated on fit. True. Listen to every talk he makes. Searles is a good fit for the program. We'll have to view the results after the season commences. Searles did well with the NC offense.
Afternoon sorts talk guys on ATL radio opined that weren't impressed by the choice. Their conclusion was that maybe Smart was too focused on winning the championship to pay attention to his OL coach hire. Uh.
