Was at florida before this. Only read that he and his family wanted out of fu because it had gotten really toxic and started affecting his kids. Don't know much else about him as a coach

My boss is a FU grad and diehard fan of all things FU. According to him Mike White is a great recruiter but a terrible coach. A gets less out of more thing. They’re happy we hired him and saved the 8.5M buyout.
We just had single digit wins and some people are not satisfied with a coach who just had a so called off season but with 19 wins in the SEC. The Kirby Smart's of basketball would not touch Georgia with a 10 basketball pole! Baby steps. Now go get Jonas Hayes to help out and recruit Georgia players Mr. Brooks.
That”gets less out of more thing” seems to be a common thread when Floriduh fans are evaluating coaches. In most cases they are dead wrong.

Local Jacksonville sports radio guy and UF graduate Frank Frangie said we got a great coach. Said White is highly regarded in college and NBA. Said he thinks due to the toxic nature of Gainesville that he is doing this partially as a "I will show you". He also said his contacts in Atlanta are saying that AAU coaches are excited because they didn't like Crean. Of course, his side kick Hays Carlyon also a UF gradate said UF got the better deal. Said if White was so good why didn't Ole Miss go after him. Before the football season Carlyon also said UGA wouldn't win a Natty and would lose to UF. Also said the Stafford trade was bad because he never thought Stafford was that good a QB. Typical UF fan. Frangie told him he didn't agree that UF's next coach would be as good. White was there 7 years and subtract the COVID year and he took them to the tournament 4 of the 6 years.
