It was impressive how much those deals happened to work out in the Braves favor. None of those outfielders were really wanted by anyone else and weren't expected to be difference makers. Duvall is probably the most consistent, but the rest of them exploded at different key points to help the Braves through the playoffs. Joc in the Division Series, Rosario in the NLCS, and Soler in the WS.
That's 21 Million a year. Freddie will be closer to 30 Million a year.
26 at most
That's how much the Braves were offering, correct? You don't think New York, Boston, or LA offers more?
Braves offered 5 year 130 million which is 26 per year
And he didn't accept it.
Which wasn't enough. "According to sources, the reigning World Series Champion is seeking a six year deal that is worth around $180 million."
Except Olson is four years younger.
Agree, they need to sign Rosario instead of Soler. Better outfielder and better hitter (maybe not so much power) and he was the NLCS MVP!
Gazillion sounds about right......
Great young core group!!!
Great young core group!!!
He still hasn't signed....... so who knows? I bet now that Olson is off the table, the teams may lower the number of years offered.
That is key.
That is why AA had know choice but to go ahead and sign Matt Olson so the Braves didn't lose out on Olson if Freddie didn't (and still hasn't) signed.
Must not be getting offered the six year $180 million that he wants. Can't really see anyone offering him more than four years with an option now that the Braves have moved on.
Love Freddie, but he might be in kind of a pickle now. Not saying he isn't worth it, just don't think he'll get it.
yes, Braves were gonna offer the most I think. would be surprised if he get 30 a year for 6 years
