- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

We have 4 very able bodied Tight ends that could all line up along with one of the faster wide receivers. That should about take care of it!
Have to disagree w/BA about Bowers playing "wr". To a degree Bowers (and Gilbert) are positionless players. BUT why change what has already been extremely successful? Why take 2 players and put them in different positions? TEdwards "you have 3 flex TE's". Exactly. A lot of 12 and 13 formations. Where you have 2 or 3 TE's on the field for EVERY play. If you throw Bowers into the "wr" mix he has to share the position with 6 other wr's. Barring injuries that limit receiving personnel, you need Bowers and Washington on the field for most plays. Gilbert needs to show that he can play wr/slot/flex TE in the UGA O. Step in. Step up. Earn your PT like everybody else. Edwards threw some cold water on the idea on changing the Bowers role. And on Gilbert being strictly TE. This is the time of year for speculation but the voice of reason should prevail on this.
Agreed. BA's logic is pretty hard to follow on this one. The opponent is going to put who they put on Bowers. If they're going to put their best cover corner on him no matter what, then it's not going to make a difference where he lines up. If keeping him as a tight end means the opponent's best cover guy goes to a WR, well there you go - mismatch city with Bowers. The bottom line is, Bowers' robust and versatile skill set makes him a problem whenever he's on the field. That's not going to change depending on where he lines up.
