Georgia football had a record draft haul. And it is well-positioned to withstand those losses as well.

Joe Burrow to the NFL and those high level opt-outs killed LSU in 2020 more than a "championship hangover" in my opinion. None of that applies to the 2022 Dawgs. Yeah, we lost a ton of proven talent to the NFL but we, Bama, Ohio State, Clemson, and a few others don't get to play the "look at the players we lost card" when hardly any teams have the depth of high level talent as the aforementioned teams do. Practice hard and then go play the 2022 season and let's see what happens.
Much of LSU's success was BUrrow driven. THey had great athletes but without Burrow they IMO wouldn't have won it all. We have seen what Burrow has done with the Cincy franchise. Turn them into a playoff team. THe guy makes plays and he's tough as nails. LSU lost a boat load of talent in that draft but they lost the key ingredient, BUrrow.
NOw could BUrrow have come back the next season and beaten that ALABAMA championship team with an LSU team that lost so many players? My guess is no, but they sure would have been so much better if he was their QB. They would of had BUrrow and Chase would have probaly played, if BUrrow could of. So, those two together were special and I think they could have lifted the team's spirits and helped to overcome the deficiences with all the lost players.
We lost a boatload of great players. BUt we have SB back, who offers a ton of experience and chutzpah. ANd we have a boatload of young talent with an experienced offense. I don't see any team shutting us down on offense provided we stay relatively healthy. We will average 40 points a game or better, just depends on if Kirby let's the team score in the 4th or just goes to running it every down.
So, while this year's defense may not be generational, if they are just really good,we chould be good to meet BAMA or Texas A&M in the SECC game. . Go Dawgs!
Let's just play the season and see what happens. Go Dawgs!
Let's don't dream about, discuss or contemplate the upcoming season. Let's just all meet back here in a year and discuss the results. Gotcha!
LSU's problem was Coach "O". They had plenty of talent in 2020...and 2021. 10 draft picks in 2021 draft says so.
Well...in that case...whatcha got to say about last year? Lorne..whatcha got? LOL
