Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Anyone following the SEC championships in track and field?
Though not a Dawg, my niece Ashley Carter won the SEC title last night in the Javelin with a new Personal Best. So proud of her!
Any other cool news to share from Oxford?

Kudos to her. A heck of a throw!!
Event is on espn app if anyone wants to watch.
Matthew Boling is 1 fast dude.
Boling wins 200 event in 20.01 time, finished 4th I believe in 100.
You sure they didn't run 200m?
Thanks, edited
The women’s team finished 10th. Not a very good showing considering how good they have been the last few years.
several of their good ones transferred out when the new coach came in. At least one to UF. I think the former coach was especially good at getting international athletes, often in the jumps and multi-events. Not sure what the strengths of the new coach are yet.
@TurkDawg , is your niece participating in the NCAA track and field championship?
Yes! Thanks for asking!
Ashley placed 3rd at the NCAA East Regionals in Indiana and finished 12th yesterday in the javelin. She’s a “super senior” who graduated last year with a computer science degree and is a young person of excellent character. Very proud to be her uncle, even if she’s one of those Auburn gals.
PS - her twin brother Bryan LOVES our UGA bulldog mascot and wants to get a pet bulldog!
Wow, that's awesome, good for her! Competing at that level is nothing short of incredible, even if it is for that cow school in Opelika. So she's a twin? My wife and I have twin girls, although they're quite a few years away from any sort of college level competition. Tell her she's got dawg fans that are proud of her and get that boy his puppy!
Yes, Ashley’s the youngest of 4 and a twin, with 3 older brothers who played all kinds of sports, while she always tagged along for fun.
One day my stepmom asked, “When are y’all going to let her just be a girl and quit playing ball all the time?” My nephew said, “Look, she’s not only the best athlete in the family, she’s the best in the whole school!”
One thing that’s stood out to me is her attitude. She always remembers sports are mainly for fun, puts no pressure on herself, and is grateful to have the opportunity to compete.
A good life lesson for us all!
PS - her twin brother Bryan is "older" by only 3 minutes! He's the English bulldog fan!
