Georgia football game time, TV networks announced for home opener, Week 3 South Carolina game
Georgia now knows when its home opener will kickoff as well as its first SEC contest, as the SEC Network announced game times for Georgia’s Week 2 and Week 3 games.

Good grief. We win the national championship and we’re still getting stuck with high noon kickoff times!!
I agree and hate those “noon” kick-offs. The good news is one of them is a big road game against the Gamecocks. Those SC fans will have to quit drinking by 11AM and head to the stadium so they won’t be juiced-up like they’ve been in the past for night games. Go Dawgs!!!
This has been written about and explained multiple times. It's not about National Championships or star power (although it kind of is about star power). It's mainly about UGA's location in the Eastern time zone and most of the other top teams in the SEC being in the Central time zone. Why? Because Fox's Big 10 prime-time game is at noon, the other non-Fox networks would prefer a fairly strong ratings draw to compete against that and it makes more sense for Georgia to play at noon, than it would be for Alabama or LSU or Texas A&M or Ole Miss to kick off at 11 a.m. CBS would love to have more Georgia games, but most of Georgia's SEC games aren't expected to be competitive, which leads them back to the noon slot. UGA could play more night games as well but it's my understanding that's not a preferred time slot by UGA officials because it puts a strain on fans traveling from far south Georgia or other far reaches of Dawg Nation, and many of those fans may be a bit inebriated on the return trip home. Go Dawgs!
