Newest Georgia commit wastes little time in attempting to recruit Arch Manning
Georgia's newest commit, Joshua Miller, wasted zero time in reaching out to 5-star quarterback Arch Manning.

Many of us have been feeling pretty good about UGA's chances to land Arch. It really makes perfect sense. Coaching stability, family atmosphere, surrounded by talent, great OL, playing for championships, I could go on and on.
But then it occurred to me that Manning will need a tremendous amount of development at the QB position. He is coming from a school that has 1200 students K-12. To successfully make the jump from that level of HS ball to the SEC will take a huge amount of development.
I see this as the only possible negative in the eyes of the Manning family. UGA is not known for developing their QB's. JEason didn't really develop after CKS arrived. JFromm regressed from yr 2 to yr 3. For whatever reason JFields did not progress throughout his freshman year after some early season promise. (75 yd TD pass to MHardmen vs KY?) . Follow that with 4* and 5* players riding the bench while a former walk on takes over the position. With 5 years experience at the college level he still makes, in the words of his coach, "too many bonehead plays".
Is that enough to push Manning to AL? It might be. Could this delay in the Arch commitment be the Mannings wanting to see how Ewers develops at TX ? Whether SBIV makes any kind of leap from more of a game manager to a guy that can take over a game or make a late comeback? Will CKS even open up the O to allow SBIV to air it out a little more?
When it gets closer to decision time will the Mannings take the safe route and go with a sure thing? By delaying the Arch commitment The Mannings are hamstringing the recruiting of the school that should be building the class around Arch NOW.
With 15, 12 and 14 currently in the QB room, UGA does not have to sign a QB this cycle. PROVIDED at least 2 of those guys stick around. If UGA signs Arch and it nukes the QB room and those 3 guys leave was it worth it?
There is little chance that Manning will start at UGA, Bama, or Texas. Might not even see any snaps, the first year. But the Manning name is worth millions and he is going to look for that NIL $. Stands to reason he wants to be playing. Where would he have the best chance to be leading an offense in 2024? Bama job will be occupied by Bryce Young. UGA job may have some more opportunity for him. But he could transfer, if that doesn't look to happen. But if he comes, how many qb's will leave UGA? It could be a painful success, if Manning comes to uga.
Bryce Young will leave AL after this season. He is draft eligible and expected to be a top 5 NFL pick. Ewers could be gone by '24.
I wonder if Archie remembers being on a bad team in NO and the beating he took? THAT could be the equivalent of playing in the SEC even on a good team when you are not ready for prime time. I wouldn't expect the Mannings to push for PT before Arch is ready to play at a high level and protect himself.
BTW AD Mitchell should also be draft eligible after this season.
It’d be nice to get a 5-star QB, couldn’t hurt, but it’s not critical. The Dawgs’ QB room is deep. The linemen and defenders - they’re critical. The other defenders? Critical. The running game will always be a focus, so you’ve got to attract the stud RBs. But with the line, the running game and the defense, a competent QB can be productive, just as they’ve typically been at Bama. It’d be great to have Arch, but I won’t lose sleep if he goes elsewhere.
Georgia beats the snot out of Michigan and absolutely destroyed their OLine which is again rated the best Line in the country with worse stats and playing against inferior opponents. Every time the SEC gets 2 teams into the Playoffs the Big 10 cries foul but gets blown out. Hello, time to wake up and smell the coffee!
