I have a similar recipe.
Jalepeno halves with cream cheese, but with Zatarains Creole Seasoning mixed in. Then wrapped in Bacon.
I'll definitely try that. Million variations. I did once with a little dark chocolate under the cheese blend. Go like 97%. Surprisingly really good
Listen @mattmd2 bro, we just keep it simple. Cheese deep with a combination of hot sausage and mild sausage…. do not and repeat do not change that. Pigs in a blanket..small version and normal version unless you just want hotdogs (depending on weather will determine if chili comes in to play) chicken and Q…. Doesn’t happen every game day only the ones that are big games in preparation for brunswick stew when it’s hog picking season
I could see the dark chocolate working, almost like a touch of mole sauce.
My wife and I just did 30 poppers to address the sudden surge of ripe Jalapeno's from the garden. Next time I will try adding the Zatarians, sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing.
I hear ya @JRT812 . The classics are classics for a reason. Pigs in a blanket and smoked sausage are staples every weekend.
If you like the cheese/sausage dip, you should do something similar, but mix baked beans with hot & mild sausage and a bit of brown sugar. Goes great with the chicken and bbq.
I'd say the best part about bbq is using the leftovers (if there are any) for brunswick stew. I would share my brunswick stew recipe here, but it's over 100 years old and a family secret.
Good stuff! I hear ya on the stew recipe. Not sure how old family recipe is but my grandma gave it to me and it’s a staple. She wouldn’t even share it with my sisters haha
Next time you have too many jalapenos try making cowboy candy. Great on subs, burgers, hot dogs, or just to snack on
I love making loaded pulled pork nachos with my leftover pork.
I've never made Brunswick stew before
tfk, if you get a spare sec please share your recipe for those Jalapenos. They look irresistible and you are so right, they are the perfect compliment to just about everything. Not done any canning this Summer as I've been sequestered in FL without jars or produce. Usually would be in the NC mountains and doing some 4 or 5 dozen quarts of my "Nuke Cukes". Instead I'm getting ready to ride out the storm season down here. Hoping by October I can hike back to the hills and get at least a few done.
X2.. please
Good one to follow.
Muchas Gracias Amigo!
Just a thought, because this looks FREAKING DELICIOUS!!!
GO DAWGS!!!
Christmas in July? I know that I am extra happy because the week BEFORE Christmas is the early signing period!!! I’m in the mood to eat wonderful things as Georgia is making wonderful headlines by signing the BEST PLAYERS!!!
GO DAWGS!!!
My wife has an amazing recipe for sausage balls. Will get it from her and post it here.
Thanks for bumping this thread. Nothing says “football is almost here” like doing some food planning and recipe hunting.
Modifications:
Use 1 pack regular/mild and 1 pack spicy sausage
Add a pinch of chili powder
SO addictive!!
@mattmd2 that sounds CRAZY GOOD!!!
Found this at a flea market for $4 last Saturday. Plenty of ideas in here...
Ohhhh, what a steal!
Good for you!
